Development Crew For Assassin's Creed II Triples In Size

It's one of our most anticipated titles of the year and every time we hear more about it, our anticipatory level rises a few notches.

Assassin's Creed 2 has already become the focal point of the latest Game Informer issue and is consistently on the minds and tongues of many gamers. According to NowGamer, the team assembled for this hotly anticipated sequel is three times the size of the team that produced the original title. Producer Sebastien Puel said around 450 people are currently toiling away on ACII, and about 75% of the original group is involved. Added Puel:

"The team's size for the second title of Assassin's Creed 2 is about three times the size of the team of the first game. Making [Assassin's Creed] from A to Z took around four years...it's a very good thing we are keeping most of the core members who envisioned the first Assassin's Creed. They know the project very well."

He went on to say that designers who worked on the first game had "thousands of ideas" that weren't implemented, but they're trying to put as many as they can into the sequel. Although we loved Assassin's Creed, many will say that while the foundation and concept was undeniably excellent, there were a lot of ideas that didn't quite come to fruition on screen. Well, those naysayers ought to be encouraged by what they see here.

The way Ubisoft replicated the architecture in the first game is enough to sell me on the second one .

I loved just sprinting around the beautiful cities and was awestruck by the majestic ancient setting . I can only imagine how good Venice would look .

i really hope that in a future assassins creed you get to play as a modern assassin, im sure they have it planned because in the first one i remember the building you are in was being attacked by operatives and that the building you are in seemed to be in an urban envirement, seemingly perfect for a sequel in a modern envirement, just an idea but it would be so siq if they put in some modern assassin stuff in a future assassins creed.

yeah I'm in my own individual campaign of no buying multiplat games when the lead plataform its the 360.

I want my own PS3 version like the ninja gaiden sigmas.

no great miss..I usually can get the ''free'' pc version of those ones.

I buyed a ps3 I want games made for it or at least multiplats with the same quality and features ..lucky that PS3 its starting to get them.

i agree with Oxvail, the quality of the games that are multipat are downgraded just because they started it all wrong. but if they started on the ps3 they might exceed the restraints and then have to downgrade for the 360 anyway. just make it for ps3 only!

That's really good to hear.
The first one had such gorgeous environments and interesting characters, yet there was a very noticeable lack of interaction with these. Hopefully, the sequel remedies this.

The first one was good and had a lot of potential, but it was way over hyped. Doing the same 5 or so missions (which weren't that exciting) again and again killed the game for me. It's one of the few PS3 games I never finished.

Pretty much all I do when playing AC, is find a street corner with a cart of hay. Hide in it, jump out and stab a couple ppl (low profile) then hide, guards show up, stab them hide some more, ppl take a bit before coming through again but they will, and repeat =) also I barely walked out of the area =\ like half the bodies disappeared...i felt depressed lol

People call AC repetitive and I agree. But I actually enjoyed the missions and whatnot so it didn't bother me at all. I absolutely loved the exploration of the first, with the exception that climbing was (slightly) too slow. Well... that and the hydrophobia.

Is it cool to hate AC ? I must have missed that boat because that game is awesome. The game's wall scaling embarrassed countless Spider-Man games that came before it. The battle system is still one of the best out there. Bring on part two and keep that awesome white mantle.

The AC team listened to all our complaints and they are changing a whole lot of stuff for the sequel.

Btw, the "latest" issue of Game Informer has a preview of Modern Warfare 2 (cover story).

Id say this game is gonna be all hype like the last one, so im not gonna allow myself to get excited about it, but fair f**ks to them on making the team bigger, more brains = better ideas.
