Bethesda Confirms Fallout 3 DLC For PS3, More Content Planned

Hopefully, the days of exclusive downloadable content falling to the Xbox Live service will eventually disappear; if the rising Network is any indication, it should.

But we still missed out on some awesome DLC for games like Grand Theft Auto IV and Fallout 3, and that's irritating. The good news is that Bethesda has finally announced plans to release that DLC for last year's epic RPG on the PSN. According to Strategy Informer, the timed exclusivity deal with Microsoft has run out and "Operation: Anchorage" will be released for the PS3 version in June, followed by "The Pitt" and "Broken Steel," which will be "4-6 weeks apart." We don't have exact release dates just yet, but it's solace enough to know that PlayStation 3 owners will finally get the good stuff for Fallout 3. But it doesn't end there: as the exclusivity deal is over, all future extra content will be available for both the Xbox 360 and PS3, so "Point Lookout" and "Mothership Zeta" will indeed be simultaneous multiplatform releases. Get the full details over at SI, and prepare yourselves for some extended play time with one of this generation's most impressive titles. As if this game needed to be any longer, right?

Well, like we just got finished saying, the days of timed exclusive DLC deals should fall by the wayside. In the meantime, we just like to see previously unavailable bonus content finally coming into the hands of PS3 owners.

Well i bought the Tin edtion of F3, if i buy the special edition i should be entitiled to the add-ons. You cant expect me to buy the ultimate edtion and still have to pay for features.

the DLC is going to be on the disc in october with the game of the year edition, but according to some sights the DLC packs are going to be available on disc as well comeing this summer, i sure hope so because i live in canada and dont have a credit card or anything, and the PSN cards arent out in canada yet, once again canadians are left out in the dust

Did the 360 "Tin edition" (lol) get free dlc? No. You get a bobble head and bragging rights. That's it. We get the dlc six months later and you're complaining?

As a side note, I'm Canadian but I do have a credit card.

You paid extra for a lunch-box, bobble head, and art book. The DLC was not part of the original purchase.

Honestly I think anyone who purchased "limited (collector's) editions" are... e'hem, um... wait... [ looks at large pile of collector's edition games ]... never mind.

They're $10 each. They also have plans for releasing all of them including the original fallout in a bundle sometime. Which will be more reasonably priced.

I love this game, it just keeps getting bigger and bigger. I hope they come out with more trophies too!

ABOUT TIME, YES! And of course it isn't gonna be free, it still cost money on Live still. And I got the collectors also but not the best one that had a Pip Boy alarm clock, but the lunchbox one. You buy a special edition to get the bonus material, not free DLC. I'm glad just because I went with the PS3 version over the 360 version and then found out it had more bugs and no Trophy support. I played for about an hour and was gonna trade it to my hook up at the game store for the 360 version, straight trade but they added Trophy support so I kept it. The next thing I knew I heard about the 360 exclusive DLC and thaqt pushed me over the edge, I ended up stop playing it and let my cousin borrow it. Guess it's time to get that game back to complete it and prepare for all the DLC. I had Oblivion GoTY version on 360 and PS3 and sold it due to no Trophies and I was so far along in the story on the 360, even though Oblivion was better on PS3 than the 360 you would figure the PS3 version of FallOut would have been the superior platform also.

Agreed. While I can understand some PS3 owning Fallout 3 owners being happy about this, they're just gonna end up supporting the idea that timed DLC is A-OK.

Nice. Although I am slightly frustrated over the fact that I recently traded my game in, this is great news. Fallout 3 is my favorite game, and I will be buying all the DLC day one!

I'm going to trade in my regular version now towards Infamous. Then pick it up the GOTY edition with all the add-ons in the disc already.

I hope that along with the DLC, they patch the PS3 version some more. Even this "patched" version was buggy and had some freezing issues.

I am completely thrilled. I loved F3 and still do. Let Bethesda milk MS for six months. Who cares? I was busy with other games at the time anyways.

I do so hope that the dlc for PS3 isn't modified in some way. Which dlc is it now that removes the level cap? If we're getting that ... I don't know what I'll do. That's just awesome news. And WHAT'S "Mothership Zeta?" I'll have a mini-nuke for it's gullet when it arrives that's for damn sure.

Rumour has it that there is also a Game of the year version of F3 in the works too. I don't know how much will be included but it will be along the lines as Oblvions GOTY version with the full game and the expansions on one disc.

i really want to get this, but i cant because there are no PSN cards up here in canada, this sucks because i dont have a credit card that works on the PSN either, but according to the 17th issue of the official playstation magazine the canadian PSN cards will come out they just dont know when, i hope its soon, i want to try the new killzone map packs as well :(

I'm not sure if there is an issue with exchange rate or not but, I live in the US and had trouble with getting the PSN to except my credit card. I actually called Sony and there was an issue with the way I was entering my address. The problem was the way I was entering my apartment information. It needed to appear on the same line as the street address. There's more info on the PlayStation site under: Knowledge Center. Check it out, it may help.

Heads up Ben: I don't think Point Lookout/Mothership Zeta is going to be a simultaneous multiplat release...

360 and PC are getting it in late June/July, respectively, while PS3 owners will get it only after the other 3 packs come out. So maybe end of summer?

From reading the press release, Its like the timed exclusivity of the first 3 packs has run out, and now the xbox 360 has secured two more exclusive packs???

Point Lookout" and "Mothership Zeta" launch for the 360 in June..
This is the same time that the PS3 is getting the "old" 360 content.

So I'm guessing we wont see these two new packs until 6 months after the 360 has seen them??

Sucks.

Hey what's wrong with sitting at home stacking paper? I been doing that most my life. Anyway I'm gameflying Fallout3 until I can gamefly the GOTY Edition same as I did with Oblivion. Seems to make little sense to buy a game early especially with Besthesda's GOTY editions that basically make the original discs as obsolete as XP without SP2 & 3 ..

The GTA4 stuff was outright paid for by Microsoft and isn't a timed exclusive, they are exclusive GTA4 360 content PERIOD.

Not EVER going to be any PS3 versions of that exclusive GTA4 content.Ever as in NEVER.So any still hoping for it or still not understanding the situation can still keep dreaming.
