Rumor: Capcom To Unveil Devil May Cry 5 At E3

It probably won't come as a huge shock to learn that Capcom is working on Devil May Cry 5, but what if it appeared at E3...? That would be worth talking about!

Now, we have heard that Capcom plans to unveil two brand new games at the show this year, in addition to the probable inclusion of Lost Planet 2 and Dead Rising 2. One of them has been recently revealed to be Tatsunoko vs. Capcom but the other could very well be the fifth installment in the critically acclaimed action franchise. Apparently, a source close to CriousGamer says that Capcom will indeed announce DMC5 at E3; it's being made for all major platforms, including the Nintendo Wii. The teaser that we'll supposedly see is only about a minute and a half long but it should give us an estimated release date, at the very least. We loved Devil May Cry 4 and any time there's news of a fresh entry in the series, we get very excited. Really, the only black mark on the entire franchise is DMC2, but we're all trying to forget that; we have every confidence that DMC5 will kick ass. If you want flash, fast action, and a whole lot of attitude, there is no better option for avid gamers.

So now there's another game to look out for in a few weeks time. It may not be a show-stealer - not with the likes of God of War III guaranteed to blow everyone away - but if it's announced, DMC5 will definitely turn some heads.

Devil may cry 4 wasn't even that good and the series has gone downhill. It's partly because of it going multiplatform (devil may cry, xbox 360 controller, terrible).

It could've done much better if the developers weren't so scared releasing it as an exclusive.

You didn't like DMC2? I've actually enjoyed it, It wasn't as good as the first or as hard as the third but it had a nice middle ground...DMC 4 i rented but never finished it because I felt that as good as the game was...It was getting to be old news.

Big sword, crazy guns..random animated crotch shots of half naked women...great game! Lol

DMC Wii? Don't know about that...but have to wait and see I guess.

SarahpalinMILF said something I 120% agree with. hahahaha. Yeah DMC waggle would officially have me hating Wii. I don't have a problem with it as it is, but please don't butcher one of my favorite series. I would like this to be true for PS3, and really would prefer it exclusive.

For the love of god i hope Nero isnt the main character and if he is i hope he has more than 1 weapon. In DMC3 i loved swapping up various weapons on the go to create some bada$$ combos. I like 4 but only the part with chapters with Dante in them.

The main thing i hated about 4 was the feeling that you never get stronger you are always about the same strength completely throughout the game i mean you can buy extra combos that help with the combo statues but thats all theyre really good for.

The Devil Bringer was a nice addition and i liked it when you got bosses in that weakened state to deal massive damage. If theyre making a DMC5 for the love of god give Nero some more weapon or you know just let us play as Vergil

I think they need to do a prequel of how Dante and Virgil came to be. I would love to play as Sparta. They could tell that story, how he sealed the demons off etc...

Dude did you just rag on my boy Nero? NO YOU DI-IN'T! lol I figured some people didn't like him, but I thought he was mad slick. I just hated when they brought Dante in mid-game and destroyed my rhythm. I see one way to fix this, hear me out, cause' I would hate to see Nero go. They have to make them separate stories and none of that switching imposed by the game. In other words 20 missions for Nero, 20 for Dante. That way we're both happy. :) I'd like to see Trish and Lucia as playable characters too.

I agree i would like to know about Sparda as well. Also i dont hate Nero as a character but you gotta admit whoever thought that having Nero only use 1 sword and gun needed to be smacked hard. I wanna know why DMC4 had less weapons than DMC 3 and why the story was so disjointed.

For every question they asked there were hardly any answers. How is Nero a descendant of Sparda ? Why is Yamato in the human world when Vergil was using it in the Demon World? What is the Devil Bringer? In my opinion the Devil Bringer was a nice addition but id rather have Dantes interchangeable weapons over it.

This isnt big news at all...DMC5 is goin to face alota big games this year...im not sure it wil do very well..DMC v God of War..god of war wins...DMC v Uncharted...uncharted wins and tha rest of great games coming out...i may b abit one sided as i think tha whole massive sword n crazy gunin is gettin rather old!

Those aren't fair comparisons, GOW wins in popularity because it's for twitch gamers and button mashers. I'm not a GOW fan at all, but I respect that series. I understand why DMC has lost its edge, but don't compare it to 2 games that far exceed its popularity. DMC has its own style, at least it isn't some clone.

i finished all dmc games and the second one wasnt very good

but the fourth one was good up until they used dante's missions to do back tracking

that ruined it for me because dante is my character of choice over nero
(but he is a good substitute)

hope they make a full game as dante this time

also dmc on the wii is a big mistake

not sayin DMC isnt good or God of war is like far better im saying its not gonna sell much stand up to tha kinda game comming out this year thats all...im sure it wil sell well...but...its not gna b anythink speshal to me..to other people mayb mayb but...i think its gettin old...massiv sword massiv gun..its old..but i must admit fun at time..was jst my opinion...but...i think they could be milking this now..possibly?..just me?

Capcom need to star dropping some old school RPG. too much FPS these days. Where's the Breath Of Fire? I'm a big fan and still no new old school games not even Mega Man X 9.( sorry but i don't count the 8 big Mega man) i wanted a next gen Mega Man.

Geez. Alot of DMC hate on this page. Wasn't expecting to see that. 2 was my least favorite, but I loved the other 3. Went back to play them all before 4 came out and the first one was hard as hell to me. Used to be cake. I know I say this alot, but man I'm gettin old. the 4th one just flat out rocked for me. I think they did the whole Nero thing like Raiden in MGS2. Seeing Dante through someone elses eyes really made me appreciate him more. The cutscenes were top notch 2. So far, I've managed to get to the 2nd hardest difficulty, (forget what it's called now, been a while) but I never expected all the bad criticism. Oh well, whatever floats ur boat, right?

In the Devil May Cry series, I was able to play only DMC4 and it was a good game. To be honest, I prefer Nero over Dante because of his Devil Bringer. I hope both of them will be playable on DMC5.

No offense to the Wi owners but if it's also being made for the wii than it certainly won't be as high quality of a title as contrast to it being to PS3/360 or even better a PS3 exclusive.So I hope for DMC sake that Capcom leaves the Wii(and 360) out of the mix.

Why bother releasing it on the Wii? No moms will be interested or little kids old enough to play.
If they reduce the level of difficulty to accomodate the Wii controls, then this title is instant fails. What's special about DMC are the difficulty levels.

I thought 3 was the worst, too damn hard. I gave up on it. 4 was pretty good, I liked the crazy arm. Still, I'm not too excited either, multiplat status always makes for a few gross misdemeanors and now we have to put up with it being on Wii? Can anyone say Tomb Raider Underworld?

Ben. In DMC3, when Dante's devil is awakened for the first time and he sprints down the tower guns a blazing and swords a flying. Every time I see that cutscene it makes me cry. If I knew the chapter off hand. I'm sure it's on YouTube. It's soooo awesome. Guess you'll have your hands full with all of this E3 news. You know you love it more than you hate it though. :)

was talking about muti system games mostly
spend all that time and cash on a 2ed or 3ed system
the game will not be as good as one thats only on one

nothing makes my adrenaline run like devil may cry its a kick ass game and i think it does stand a chance against any other game.
hell its from capcom and it originated from resident evil so offcourse its a hell of a game.

DMC4 was the first game I played on my PS3... hell, I bought it before I bought my PS3 because I found it for $20 right after it came out. I would love a DMC5.

Haaaa thats friggin hilarious, I did that too, I bought DMC 4 before I got my PS3 too, although it was a bit of a disapointment for me as I was expecting ALOT more of the game, but meh DMC 4 was alright at best.

I hate that character Nero..in DMC4...i hope they cut him off and continue the series with Dante...(though if they can keep his weapon that would be nice)
We hope to get more weapons and more complicated combos "like DMC3"...and a better story and better bosses of course.
*We need a GOW3 rival and I think that DMC series can do that.

DMC 1 and 3 were the best, 2 was ok gameplay wise, but story and character wise meh...4...well it looked pretty...other than that well it lacked the coolness of 3 and 1, it also lacked the grit, and I think i'm the only one who didn't find 3 hard as i played it over and over again playin one step harder each time. It was pure fun, i still play that game more than 4. I wish i didn't buy four but had rented instead.

Loved DMC1, DMC2 was a hiccup although I liked the fact that there were 2 characters, DMC3 and the SE were the best by far IMO. And I still have to get through DMC4 on that to play list.

What I would like to see is an evolution of the DevilTrigger powers in Dante's demon form and maybe some different weapons for Dante.
