Famitsu Confirms New PlayStation 3 RPG From Koei
There was a time when we at PSXE would complain that so few RPGs were available on the PlayStation 3. And while we can still complain to some extent considering the current selection, we're suddenly very excited about the near future.
As is typically the case, the role-playing titles are the last to get into full swing during any generation. But in addition to Final Fantasy XIII (which admittedly won't release in North America until next year), we've also seen recent announcements for the likes of Resonance of Fate, Demon's Souls (freshly confirmed for the US), White Knight Chronicles, Last Rebellion and Cross Edge. This lineup will make any RPG owner happy, and as it turns out, we might be able to add yet another title to the list: Koei's Trinity Zill O'll Zero, which has popped up in the latest edition of Famitsu. According to PS3Center, Zill O'll first saw the light of day way back in the original PlayStation days, and was later remade for the PS2 and ported over to the PSP. It's a more mature title with darker overtones and while this new unveiling sounds appealing, this exclusive PS3 RPG may indeed remain in Japan. It's hard to say, though, and we'll be looking for it at E3 next week.
Early on, it appeared that the Xbox 360 would be the new king of the RPGs in this new generation, but that sentiment is dying out quickly: the PS3 RPGs are coming...a good number of 'em.

I tell you this much, the Xbox360 won't have much on the PS3 this E3 if this continues at such a pace.
