Was Factor 5 Working On A Sci-Fi PS3 Exclusive?
Lair didn't turn out the way we had hoped, and the follow-up patch to add analog controls came too little too late. Since then, Factor 5 has kinda gone downhill; they were forced to close their North American branch just recently.
It's a sad thing but when a studio goes belly-up, remnants of the unfinished projects they were handling begin to pop up around the Internet. In this case, Unseen64 has rounded up a bunch of screenshots for a game we only know as "Project C." Here's one of the pics; click through the link to see the rest. Unfortunately, the title was still in the early stages of development so it may be officially dead, with no hope of a revival by another studio. Unseen64 speculates that the main character in the artwork is most reminiscent of Turrican, and they wonder if this game would've been the "spiritual successor to Thornado." Well, we may never know but it certainly looks somewhat promising. It's too bad that Lair didn't cut the mustard because there's no knowing what might've happened; we could be talking about "Project C" as the next big PS3 exclusive from Factor 5. Instead, we're sifting through the remnants of a defunct project, which is a little depressing.
You never know, though. Ideas can't really die and those who left Factor 5 may bring the idea with them. Perhaps this project will appear in a new form at some point in the future...

What a shame, this Sci-Fi one looked like it could've been a real good game.
Off topic: I also saw there on Unseen 64 that "Eight Days" had been cancelled a while back too.
Damn, I was waiting for it to come out, & the vid of the mob/cop attack at the gas station had looked prtetty damned great to me.

I just thought that the news regarding factor 5's issues were limited to it's US based studio, not the entire entity?

Lair just needed more than just "medieval, omg"
I'm not a big sci-fi person either....
Sci-fi is good if done right(Resistance for example)
