Quantum Theory Slips Into 2010

PlayStation 3 exclusives are the toast of the town lately, but one particular title seems to be left behind in such discussions: Tecmo's Quantum Theory.

Unfortunately, it's going to continue to be on the back burner, simply because the game has been delayed. According to PushSquare, Tecmo has said the highly anticipated action title has been pushed back until 2010. And we're only talking about a Japanese release; if it doesn't see the light of day in Japan until next year, we likely won't see it come to North America or Europe until much later in the year. If worse comes to worse, it may not be available in our region until 2011, which would be disappointing. However, we haven't exactly heard anything directly from the source (Tecmo), so perhaps some inside source somewhere is jumping the gun. Tecmo tends to throw a whole lot of effort into their big-budget productions - the Ninja Gaiden series is proof enough - so we're not necessarily surprised if they need more time. After all, Quantum Theory is their very first PS3 exclusive project and we've all learned that devs need extra time to familiarize themselves with the hardware.

Anyway, we'll let you know when Tecmo decides to issue a new release date for the game. Hopefully, it won't be too far into 2010...
