Quantum Theory Slips Into 2010

PlayStation 3 exclusives are the toast of the town lately, but one particular title seems to be left behind in such discussions: Tecmo's Quantum Theory.

Unfortunately, it's going to continue to be on the back burner, simply because the game has been delayed. According to PushSquare, Tecmo has said the highly anticipated action title has been pushed back until 2010. And we're only talking about a Japanese release; if it doesn't see the light of day in Japan until next year, we likely won't see it come to North America or Europe until much later in the year. If worse comes to worse, it may not be available in our region until 2011, which would be disappointing. However, we haven't exactly heard anything directly from the source (Tecmo), so perhaps some inside source somewhere is jumping the gun. Tecmo tends to throw a whole lot of effort into their big-budget productions - the Ninja Gaiden series is proof enough - so we're not necessarily surprised if they need more time. After all, Quantum Theory is their very first PS3 exclusive project and we've all learned that devs need extra time to familiarize themselves with the hardware.

Anyway, we'll let you know when Tecmo decides to issue a new release date for the game. Hopefully, it won't be too far into 2010...

No need to worry about it now, we'll be kept busy with all the other exclusives coming out.

btw are the forums down? I can't access it.

Honestly, I think I'll already have my plate full for the rest of 2009 and early 2010, so the delay isn't too big of a deal.

I'd rather they take there time making a solid, well polished game, instead of trying to rush it. From what I've seen of the game so far, it looks really cool.

This may turn out to be a good decision . It would have been lost in the fray if it came out later this year .

A great point. With all the focus on the 2009 line-up there's a risk that 2010 will be too quiet. Some games drifting into 2010 is NOT a bad thing.

I really wanna see this game in action. Don't really care much for Ninja Gaiden.

A shooter coming out in Japan? That could cause some early disappointing sales.

The word "exclusive" has been very blurry as of late :-(
Just so there is no confusion, I'm PS2/PSP/PS3 only user.
Go Playstation Go!!

As long as it doesn't look g.o.w 3 in the eyes then we shouldn't have a problem ay.
