Mask Logo Indicates Lords Of Shadow

When the mask appeared at both the teaser site for Hideo Kojima's mystery game and the Kojima Productions Konami site, the gaming community scratched their collective heads and pondered...what did it mean?

Well, when we first saw it, Arnold said he believed it was probably the little-known Lords of Shadow game that Konami is publishing. The only strange part about this scenario is that it isn't a Kojima Productions title, although Kojima himself has talked about it in the past and is clearly involved in some capacity. This is why the mask logo appears at both the aforementioned sites. Now, Examiner.com has it "on good authority" that our theory was indeed correct; it's not a project called Mask, it really is Lords of Shadow. You're probably unfamiliar with the game at this point but have no fear: it's very likely that Kojima and Konami will reveal more of the game at E3 next week. In fact, it seems inevitable. And if you're wondering, Shadow currently holds a tentative 2010 release date and will be available on both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Any and all questions pertaining to the game's style, setting and gameplay should wait; most all of them will receive answers next week, anyway.

It's difficult to clarify a rumor with an unofficial statement but we say it's about 95% likely that what we say here is true. Official, no, but still extremely plausible.

you think this could be the multiplatform bone kojima is throwing MS while keeping the Metal Gear Solid franchise with Sony? god i hope Kojima doesnt compromise MGS for MS's sake. If he moves multiplatform with MGS it will likely suffer Resident Evil 5 syndrome. Watered down, mediocre and glitchy.

That's what I'm hoping for. The countdown pretty much confirms that Kojima has something for the 360. Let's hope that Shadows is multiplatform and MGS5 stays with the PS3.

Oh yeah

That was the Castlevania-like game we saw last year at E3(2008).

Looks good, but also for PC? I don't know, when I see a game also coming out for PC it literally turns me off.

Anyway I'll wait and see it at this year's E3.

Probably two games;MGS5(or whatever is going to be called)for the PS3 and Lord of Shadows multiplatform to keep the 360 owners distracted while PS3 owners play a new MGS.

Makes sense for Kojima's teaser site to be about those two games. Could also explain the mysterious letters/numbers could spell out both PS3 and 360. I'm still hoping for a PS3 exclusive prequel or remake of Metal Gear.

The meta tag keywords still have all that Metal Gear Stuff in them though.

And haha, the bottom of the page says "Viewing the page requires Flash Playrar version 8.0 or higher."

Yeah this has become axiomatic from recent evidence. It's really strange though, you just wouldn't expect Kojima to be involved with Lord of Shadows.
