Will Mass Effect 2 Explode At Sony's Press Conference?

There were several surprises at Microsoft's E3 press conference yesterday, but amidst all the hubbub, we may be overlooking something crucial that might relate to Sony's conference today.

As OXCGN points out, Bioware's Mass Effect 2 was nowhere to be found yesterday. We have always found it strange that, considering EA's involvement in the new series, it would remain exclusive to the Xbox 360. After all, not only are just about all third-party exclusives disappearing - just look at Metal Gear Solid: Rising - but since when does freakin' EA go in for exclusivity? They only care about profit, and to make the most profit, one must release a game on multiple platforms; as many as possible, in fact. If you combine this with the game's absence at Microsoft's conference, one might easily come to the conclusion that we'll see Mass Effect 2 announced for the PlayStation 3 in just a few hours. On the other hand, perhaps we can just go by Occam's Razor: "all things being equal, the simplest explanation is usually the right one." Maybe Bioware just didn't have anything to show this year, and they're not to a "presentation point" concerning Mass Effect 2.

But even so, it's still worth thinking about. There really is something bizarre about anything EA-related staying exclusive to any one (or two, if you count the PC) platforms.

I didn't play the first one but heard great things about it. I look forward to this coming to PS3 since we need more RPG style games.

Mass Effect is the one game that makes me wish I had a 360...

I would be happy if Mass Effect 2 comes out for the PS3, but I still want to play the original first.

'Guns of the Patriots' is the only game I've played this generation that I enjoyed more than 'Mass Effect', so having the sequel come to PS3 would certainly be a great opportunity for everyone who didn't get to experience the first.
If this did happen, though, I would hope that 'Mass Effect' would still make it's way to the PS3 as well. It would feel quite incomplete otherwise.

M.E. is an ugly game. It might be actually good, but the art director did an appaling job, in all honesty i couldnt care less about M.E.2

Maybe they just felt like leaving it up to EA and Bioware? I'll tell you one thing though, if it comes to PS3 I'll buy it.

I scratched my head when ME2 was a no-show for Microsoft. The game's supposed to be out in less than a year, and the first one was a big hit. Mr. Dutka, you may be on to something!

Bioware is prepping another "complete edition" of ME1 for the 360...so here is my theory:

1. This new complete edition will also be made available for PS3

2. Due to some contractual obligations with MS, ME2 is gonna stay in the shadows until it expires, then it will be announced as a multi-plat.

Anyone with me??

I think Microsoft tied up the trilogy. They have an enormouse amount of faith in Bioware. They wanted this to be their KotOR... oh how I miss you Revan! I want to see the new inventory system... I hear it doesn't blow
