Will Mass Effect 2 Explode At Sony's Press Conference?
There were several surprises at Microsoft's E3 press conference yesterday, but amidst all the hubbub, we may be overlooking something crucial that might relate to Sony's conference today.
As OXCGN points out, Bioware's Mass Effect 2 was nowhere to be found yesterday. We have always found it strange that, considering EA's involvement in the new series, it would remain exclusive to the Xbox 360. After all, not only are just about all third-party exclusives disappearing - just look at Metal Gear Solid: Rising - but since when does freakin' EA go in for exclusivity? They only care about profit, and to make the most profit, one must release a game on multiple platforms; as many as possible, in fact. If you combine this with the game's absence at Microsoft's conference, one might easily come to the conclusion that we'll see Mass Effect 2 announced for the PlayStation 3 in just a few hours. On the other hand, perhaps we can just go by Occam's Razor: "all things being equal, the simplest explanation is usually the right one." Maybe Bioware just didn't have anything to show this year, and they're not to a "presentation point" concerning Mass Effect 2.
But even so, it's still worth thinking about. There really is something bizarre about anything EA-related staying exclusive to any one (or two, if you count the PC) platforms.
