Publishers, Developers Toast The Success Of E3 2009
E3 was in a downward spiral prior to this year's show, but just about everyone in the industry is toasting E3's return to glory after an excellent experience in 2009.
As reported by GamesIndustry.biz, publishers and developers alike fed off the energy of this year's show and hailed the rebirth of a proud tradition in the industry. Everyone from Microsoft's Shane Kim to Take-Two's Ben Feder spoke about E3 2009's resurrection of sorts, and here's what new SCEE president Andrew House had to say on the matter:
"I think you get a singular opportunity to have the press and everybody else focus on our industry for a week in LA – one of the entertainment capitals of the world. That's pretty priceless. As soon as you took emphasis away from that we lost an opportunity to reach the media and by extension broaden our appeal as an industry as a whole, so I'm very glad it's back. It's absolutely worth the collective investment we put into it."
Feder commented that the show floor "felt alive" and the participants and attendees "couldn't be happier." Sega Europe's Gary Dunn thinks E3 "hit the sweet spot this year," as the ESA managed to strike a nice balance between the slow recent years and the overblown years when it felt "oversubscribed." There's no doubt that the conferences left an indelible mark in our minds, and the games certainly reigned supreme besides some very cool new technology unveiled by Sony and Microsoft. So you see? You can't really kill off a positive tradition like E3.

nintendo was okay
but the real disappointment was microsoft
all they showed was sequels and yet another halo game
and as for mgs on 360 i could care less because snake isnt even in the game and kojima is focusing on mgs on psp so the ratings for that game will probably be around 7/10
ps. i dont give a damn about any motion sensing devices
