Rock Band: Green Day Confirmed?
At this point, you may as well get up a list of the most successful rock bands and guess..."hmm, which one will have their own Rock Band or Guitar Hero game?" I mean, this new phenomenon could go on forever.
You all know that The Beatles: Rock Band is on the way, but Harmonix is already looking down the road for its next star, and it appears they've settled on alternative rock gurus, Green Day. According to Kotaku, the band basically confirmed as much on KROQ 106.7 FM yesterday morning. An audience member asked the band if they'd be contributing any of their songs to Rock Band, and lead singer Billy Joe replied simply, "Uh yeah, we're doing a whole Green Day Rock Band." We don't know if this is a track pack or an entirely new game all their own, but Billy Joe must've been reluctant to talk about it because the only other information he'd give is a vague release date: "I'm not sure...soon. Like I think not this week, but this year soon...by the end of this year." As Kotaku noted, it is a little bizarre that none of Green Day's songs have found their way into a Rock Band iteration yet, so perhaps they've been saving them all for one big ol' game dedicated to the band. Of course, if it's not until later this year, we may not have confirmation one way or the other for a while. But we'll keep our eyes open.
So, who else would you want to see get their own Rock Band? There are hundreds of amazing rock bands that might deserve such recognition, and at this point, it seems like any one of them has a legitimate shot.

@fluffer Leftover Crack. Awesome punk band with the actual movement in mind and not just the scene of it all.

I like Rockband because it gets my friends together for a great time, and you feel great doing it.
Playing a track you jammed with for years even though you have no musical talent is fun. Deal with it.
I feel stoked when I rock through a Stevie Ray Von track and get 100% on the solo.
Gaming is about fun and pleasure, rockband gives me both.
I think The beatles deserve thier own game and it was the only way to get them in anyway. Greenday, yeah this should be DLC...
The game is fun, and it is nowhere near as cheesy as GH graphically. I like it and you should not assume someone is a casual gamer for enjouying a genre you do not care for.

i'm a gamer as well, not a casual one. i haven't been gaming for 25 years though cause i'm not that old, lol. but i've been playing games since i was like 5 or 6. i used to play my brothers sega genisis. i've been playing games ever since then.
now i would only be a casual gamer if i only played RB or if i had only a nintendo wii and had RB with it
i would not take a mediocre rpg over RB because i don't like playing mediocre games
maybe that's the reason why i have always gone with playstation brand
because they always haves great games!

When most of you turn 60, they'll still be putting out titles, only they'll probably have run out of groups by then, & will have to revert to old TV theme songs.
Stuff like
R.B. TV Themes: MR. Rogers Neighborhood
R.B. TV Themes: Tellitubbies
R.B. TV Themes: Barney The Dinosaur
God, if I'm still alive by then, I'll probably even see some poster's begging for....
R.B. TV Themes: Bonanza
R.B. TV Themes: Three's Company
R.B. TV Themes: Have Gun Will Travel
(Hell, I'd even go for this last one)

Releasing new band-themed Rock Band games is not innovation or perfection.

DISCLAIMER: says they found a batch of GH & RB bundles in a "long forgotten chamber in their warehouse" (Yeah, like I'm gonna ever going to believe that's the real truth).
Anyway, they must be selling like hotcakes cause over 1/2 of the stuff is already gone since I looked yesterday.
Taken from their site:
During our annual spring cleaning, one of our associates came across a forgotten chamber in the warehouse. He found a cache of leftover Rock Band and Guitar Hero games. These are all new games, but the ravages of time and being entombed in the depths of our warehouse have left some of the boxes in less-than-mint condition. So, although the outsides may be a little worn – just like some of your favorite musicians - the games and products themselves are still in perfect shape. Our discovery translates to huge savings for you plus you’ll get FREE 3-Day Ground shipping to the continental US – just add to your cart and choose USA Ground as your shipping method during checkout. Online offer only.
