Lost Planet 2 Should Get Simultaneous PS3/360 Launch
There may have been some rumors floating around about Lost Planet 2 potentially being a timed exclusive for the Xbox 360 in Japan. This came from a release schedule update on the official Japanese site for the game, but Joystiq has clarified things.
Capcom USA has confirmed that the highly anticipated sequel will launch for both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on the same day, although it may "ship a bit earlier in Japan (like RE5), but US/European releases will be simultaneous." Unfortunately, we still don't have an exact release date, but Capcom PR director Chris Kramer admitted that "winter is the best we can do right now." From our point of view, we would strongly suggest waiting until after the holidays; that lineup is absolutely insane, and perhaps something like Lost Planet 2 will get overlooked. Quantic Dream has already decided to let Heavy Rain miss 2009 for this very reason, and we definitely applaud that decision. Much of a game's success can depend on when it releases to market and what its direct competition is; if Capcom's sequel has to go up against the likes of Modern Warfare 2, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves and Assassin's Creed 2 (among others), sales could suffer. For our part, we're not that interested in Lost Planet 2, but we know there are plenty of fans out there.
Therefore, we'll be sure to let you know when Capcom nails down a solidified release date.

I played the first game on 360, and while it wasn't great there were still moments where the good idea behind it shone through. If they have changed, as they seem to have done, the gameplay gaffes(crap mobility and THAT stumnling and stumbling again BS among others)that masked the fun the concept should have been then theres a good chance of this being worth a pop this time round.
It definitely looks better and it looks quicker to play while mechs are always a good thing(Gundam apart!)so I'll give it a chance even if Capcom, for me, are way below the form they showed in previous generations.
