Double Fine Replaces Dio With Tim Curry For Brutal Legend
Brutal Legend has been in the news often since E3, so we figured you'd require an update.
First, Activision Blizzard has made a claim to the game, as they've sued EA for the rights to Tim Schafer and Double Fine's latest project. In response to this, Schafer had a great reply... Secondly, during the Download Festival in the UK, 440 people came together to celebrate the greatness of Motorhead's metal classic, "Ace of Spades," via the time-honored practice of air guitar. They set the Guinness World Record for the number of people performing virtual simultaneous air-guitar (the previous record was 318, set last year). But the news doesn't end there. Now, as GameSpot reports, Schafer has confirmed that one of the godfathers of metal, Ronnie James Dio, is no longer involved in the production. Initially, he was set to be the voice for the evil Doviculus, but it seems Double Fine has found a better fit in actor Tim Curry. Said Schafer:
"Ronnie James Dio is an amazing singer and truly one of the great figures of Metal, but as the character of Doviculus evolved, we realized that [actor] Tim Curry was a better fit for the part. Anyone who has seen his amazing performance as the Lord of Darkness in the movie Legend knows why we cast him in the role of Doviculus, Emperor of the Tainted Coil."
As much as we love and respect Dio, we have to admit that he isn't an actor, and Curry most certainly is. His resume goes well beyond the cult classic days of "The Rocky Horror Picture Show," and he should make for a great addition to the Brutal Legend cast. Hey, Schafer knows what he's doing.

Such a proud Englishman right now. The rest of the world must bow before our mass air-guitaring superiority!

Still I wish they cut rob halford instead, priest is highly overrated imo, almost as much as iron maiden. My top pick for an additional metalhead cameo, the more the merrier, is Rob Zombie, even if his newer stuff blows.
