Massive Home Update This Week
Remember when Sony said they're close to fully realizing PlayStation Home's potential? Well, with more updates like this, it won't take long.
As you can tell by a visit to the PlayStation blog, we've got a massive Home update coming our way this week. First up is the addition of the SOCOM Tactical Operations Center, which is only Part I of an eventual two-part SOCOM hub. You can build new strategies with friends using the Telestrator tool, check maps and leaderboards, and even examine your own all-time Career stats. Second is the unveiling of Sony's "first foray into movie and game-themed personal spaces." We're gonna get a Ghostbusters Firehouse apartment, which is a 3-floor space filled with all sorts of "ghostly" (heh) furniture and decorations, and make sure to check the basement for any strange activity... Finally, EA is bolstering the appeal of their EA Sports Complex with more Racing tracks, a Racing Boost Shop, Poker updates, and leaderboards. Oh, and they'll toss up "some more game-related virtual items" for the likes of Street Fighter IV and inFamous.
The post also mentions two new events scheduled for this weekend (in addition to the normally-scheduled Resistance): it's the SRPA Siege and Saturday Night Street Fightin' game launching events; the fun kicks off on Friday morning and ends Friday night. You and your friends will embark on scavenger hunts and the first 100 winners will receive a "free download of Bomberman Ultra from the PlayStation Network." 'whew' Is that enough? Are all you avid Home users satisfied now? Well, don't worry if you're not; Sony ain't gonna stop any time soon.

Uninstalled home ages ago, cause it was a bit crap. But at the time it seemed like US and Japan had loads more to do in Home than UK users did.
So now Im wondering if its worth installing again and giving it another go?

1. You can't tell from the "tiles" which places you have downloaded/up-to-date.
2. The Triangle options menu doesn't include Download in Background.
3. Once you start to download a space, you are kicked out of your menu, so you can't easily set up multiple spaces to download.
All of which means you can get stuck travelling to (loading) a space when you just wanted to download it in the background.
@ fluffer nutter
You only have to re-download when the space changes, and I'm pretty sure you have to do it even if they are Favorites.

I can't wait to invite friends over for a game of pool or chess while we listen to some groovy tunes. Purple rain, anyone? :)
