Capcom Classics Flood PSN Today
If you've been roving around the Store or PlayStation Home this year, you know Capcom is an avid supporter of the Network. But you haven't seen anything yet: starting today, more than a few Capcom classics are hitting the Store for play on both the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable.
As announced over at the PlayStation Blog, the first batch of old-school gems will go up on the Store today. It includes the Capcom Classics Collection: Remixed, which features recognizable arcade titles like Final Fight, Bionic Commando, Street Fighter, and Magic Sword. In fact, there are 20 classic games included in the Collection, so if that's not worthy of your time, you ain't no true gamer. Visit the Capcom Unity website to take a gander at all 20 titles. The other games that you'll be able to download today are:
- Mega Man Powered Up (UMD Legacy)
- Dino Crisis (PlayStation Legacy)
- Power Stone Collection (UMD Legacy)
- Mega Man Maverick Hunter X (UMD Legacy)
- Resident Evil 2 (PlayStation Legacy)
- Darkstalkers (UMD Legacy)
- Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max (UMD Legacy)
- Resident Evil 3: Nemesis (PlayStation Legacy)
- Capcom Classics Collection Reloaded (UMD Legacy)
At some point later this summer, you can expect Fate/Unlimited Codes to join the fray, which will release exclusively on the PSN and be "ready for the new PSP Go." One might think that with all this new technology, we'd be leaving the past behind at a record rate, but the Store and Live Marketplace have allowed us to relive the golden age of gaming on a continual basis. So awesome.

Do you think you can survive a majini or ganado onslaught with those old RE3 cameras?
They'll say don't fix whats not broken, so capcom kept the tank controls and put the camera behind the player for a shoulder view to face new and improved "zombies" in RE4, it was great,RE5 wanted to stick to that and people are whining. These same people will be whining if run-and-gun was included, they'll be like "oh RE5 feels like some FPS, everything is so fast, capcom ruined it". Now they stick to the "don't fix if its not broken" rule and people are still ranting.
Forgive me if am venting about RE5 too much but that's the same way i loved Uncharted when it came out first. Nobody really cared until now every one from toddlers to old men know Uncharted is a classic thus the hype behind Among Thieves. Mind you Capcom says you wouldn't see a new RE in a long time, so you better make it worthwhile and pick up RE5.
Again forgive me, one more thing, am playing with Sheva with the clubbin' costume on my third play-through, she looks hot in it, now i see a lot of re-playability here since i've not unlocked the third costume yet ;)

I blame the over the shoulder camrea, in the classic games, they have eriee camera angles which i think make the experience. the same with classic SH (1-3).

@Ultimadream: I agree with you there, I tried playing RE2 recently on my brothers N64, and made it as far as 3 screens.

About Resident Evil 5... I have to agree that it wasn't really survival horror anymore like the earlier ones were, but it wasn't like Gears of War either. If you could run and gun, then maybe. I've gotten used to a lot of other games now that I can run and gun in and the tank controls ruined it for me. If it's a classic for anyone, that's great. I just didn't like it personally.
