GameStop Sale: $100 Off Guitar Hero: World Tour Bundle

Although the Guitar Hero franchise has been one of the most lucrative in video game history, the primary complaint amongst gamers is that the full kits are kinda expensive.

Well, if you're one of those complainers, we strongly suggest you take advantage of one hell of a sale. Between now and July 12, you can walk into your local GameStop and get $100 off the price of the Guitar Hero: World Tour bundle, effectively lowering the retail cost to $99.99. You really can't ask for a better deal than that and to add to the appeal, GameStop will offer thousands of titles for under $20 for the next three weeks. This offer ends on August 2 and the only rules that apply are as follows: "Offer not good on cash trades," and the store must in be in the US to offer the sales. Considering what you receive with World Tour (Drum Kit with Mic, Guitar Kit, Game, Content Checklist), that $100 discount is pretty damn hefty, although you can bet that the new Guitar Hero 5 won't see any such sale when it releases later this year. We have often spoken ill of GameStop in the past, but we can always appreciate it when the gamer gets a nod. Everyone likes to save money, right?

So if you've been looking for an excuse to visit your local GameStop this week, and you've been wanting to get your hands on Guitar Hero: World Tour, you now have your excuse.

EB Games in Canada are also offering this sale; I saw people buying the bundle on Tuesday.

I should also note that various Rock Band bundles have been offered at this price over the past year and you would be better served buying one of them. Just saying.

I re-sold my copy of GH:WT on Tuesday after trying for 6 months to get some enjoyment out of it--to no avail. Now I can buy a dozen more songs for Rock Band.

if you go on the site, http://www.gamestop.com/gs/landing/sumsale/default.aspx , its like they are trying to hint about the next part of this sale, May I Have Some More Please? imo i see that as ether a biger discount or looking at the word more as in peter moore, somthing to do with EA? idk im just takin a stab at things.

and...oh wait...nothing else all that interesting except crappy last gen games...thanks game stop, just when I thought you were starting to care...

You can also pick up Guitar Hero Metallica and Smash Hits for like $69.99 (yes ..for both together) on RedOctane's site :D Now That's a deal considering that on Amazon.ca "just" Metallica goes for like $65.99 :P I wish I had the cash this month cuz I'd be picking this up in a second, but ...I'd like to have food this month instead

Strange. Gamestop's website lists cheap prices for Guitar Hero World Tour for Wii, 360, and PS2. It's possible that the PS3 bundle simply isn't available on the web. Obviously I posted just a bit too soon. The PS3 version is 89.99 but it is "not currently available online" so no worries.

Even though I prefer Rockband 100 times over I might just have to pick this up so that way I can get cheap instruments and just buy used copies of RockBand and RockBand 2

lol the guitar only bundle is currently the exact same price.

I was thinking about picking up Bionic Commando for $20... but when I actually got there, I decided to pick up Oblivion GOTY. Yes, believe it or not, I haven't played it yet.

I work at EB Games in Australia. GH WT full pack is down from 330 to 199. We've nearly completely sold out!!! People love music games, and I try to convince those with 360's and PS3's to get Rock Band as well, but Guitar Hero is the dominant franchise in OZ, even tho Rock Band has far superior DLC.

I was not a fan of GH until i played it drunk with some friends (also, the only game the wife can stand since all it is - is music). However, I would only suggest this since it comes with the drums. I still have not unwrapped the mic and the new guitar is SH!T (I actually went out and bought the old guitar (GH 3) from walmart for $10 on sale and it is 5000% better. Sorry for the rant but just letting you know that the $99 is for the drums and game (just don't forget that you will have to buy at least one more guitar since the one that comes with the set it guaranteed to crap out).

GameStop strikes again. You can buy GHWT for 169.99usd OR you can get it for 100 off at 99.99usd. Nice math there GS. Does it come with one of your big ass yellow stickers? I'm terrified of that place. It's like a scratch and win every time you buy something there. You usually lose.

Prince of Persia for $20 is a steal. I'll be picking that up, not a whole lot else that interests me personally, but there's a few sports games for those who enjoy em.
