Popular 360 Exclusive Coming To PS3?

We first said it several years ago: the days of the third-party exclusive are all but over. Now, it appears that yet another exclusive will be leaping to another platform, although we have nothing but speculation and teasing at this point.

Apparently, TheSixthAxis has inside information that the PlayStation 3 will be receiving a game that was formerly exclusive to the Xbox 360. It has to stay "under wraps" right now but supposedly, more information will be revealed within the next month. The studio that plans to make this big announcement also has "other exciting news to share soon enough," so perhaps during a typical summer where big news is tough to find, this will be a head-turner. Of course, we've heard such claims from sites before and many times, these so-called "inside confirmations" are nothing more than ill-advised attempts to drum up some extra traffic. However, feel free to guess at the mystery title; it almost can't be Gears of War as we believe Microsoft owns the publishing rights to that, and we'd like to think it's Splinter Cell: Conviction, but TheSixthAxis makes it sound like the game is already in existence on the 360. We really have no idea what it might be, but here's hoping it's true, at least.

And by the way, no, this isn't the special PS3 exclusive that we at PSXE know about. That game has yet to arrive for any platform and unfortunately, we're not allowed to talk about it, either...not for a little while, at any rate.

It is mass effect ..since the game did poor ly on PC and EA is almost bankrupt

Bioware is also doing dreagon's origin for ps3 and they love PS3 as well

EA owns the mass effect ip and Bioware had a 5 year old agreement with MS since Jade empire.
so definitely it is Mass effect

also L4D will be coming to ps3 as well since VALVE are now hiring ps3 programmers

L4D will also come to PS3 since EA is in a bad shape and they earn most money off PS3 SW sales

mass effect is owned by EA as well. Bioware loves PS3 and are making DO on PS3 .which will be out this October

When it comes to Valve, I somehow can not see them jumping off their lazy ass to make things happen and therefore, I don't really care if I ever see any Valve games on PS3.

This teasing thing SUCKS big time. I mean, what the heck is wrong with these so-called journalists these days? "I know this game is coming and I swear that's gona blow you away but if I tell you more, I'll have to kill you". C'mon, I mean keep your mouth shut if you can't say shit!

Also, why is the PS community going crazy right away? I mean, who knows if it's a major 360 exclusive or an XBLA title?

I think godsman is onto something. Square Enix has been making more announcements than a maternity ward in a big city hospital nine months after a power outage. What's one more announcement from them? Besides, SO4 would be a logical game to move to the PS3, and heaven knows they could sell a decent number of copies, probably a couple of times more than sold on the 360.

if it is Halo, then the whole 360 world will lost half ground; also 2 years down the line, Gears of War moves to the PS3 too, then I can see the 360 world will collapse, cuz they have nothing left. but ofcourse, this is my assumptions. lol I actually enjoy some 360 games, i.e. Lost Odyssey, Infinite U, DOA4 etc.

Its only fair that the PS3 gets a new game since the Xbox community is getting Metal Gear Solid. Hopefully the game that the PS3 is getting from Xbox is just as good as the MGS franchise. The new game will probably be from a series that was available on Xbox.

I really hope that it is splinter cell conviction, I hate when good titles go to crappy system, lol it would be even nicer if Sony bought the rights to HALO :P but that'll never happen, but gears does seem a possability, so does mass affect 2 or alan wake

They make it sound like the title has already been released on the Xbox. My guess Dead Rising, since Dead Rising 2 is coming to the PS3 it would make sense.

Damn I would sooo love it to be Allan Wake.
That is the only game coming to the Xbox360 that has me tempted... But then again my PC can handle it and its most likely going to look better on it anyways and most likely cheaper...
SC:Conviction form the videos I saw is kind of a big disappointment, I loved the series when it was all about stealth and now after Double Agent and Conviction, the series keeps getting further and further away from its root.
Also the graphics look underwhelming but that might be just because I'm spoiled with KZ2 and U2:AT :-)

You know, a thought just struck me after reading your post. How wild and crazy would it be if Microsoft stunned the gaming world by developing a PS3 title? Seriously, Sony develops games for PC, so why not?

Sorry Highlander but I'll play KZ2 until I am blue in the face before I buy Halo on the PS3. There are plenty of shooter out there that put the Halo to shame.

My guess is Gears 3. Epic already has UT3 running beautifully on the PS3.

i went to amazon.com and checked out the best sellers on xbox360 that didn't have the name mass effect, halo, L4D, or gears of war in the name (since they were already mentioned)... there's some interesting titles out there that could be possibilities...

fable II - lionhead studios
banjo-kazooie: nuts and bolts -rareware
Ninja Gaiden II -tecmo

these are possibilities... however, i don't think lionhead studios would care much for developing on PS3 but, the other two might be interested... i'd love to see rare go multi-plat... but, there's nothing interesting on the xbox360 right now that would peak my interest...

if rare does decide to develop for the PS3 though, i might try my first backflip!!

Microsoft made a contract with epic games to release only the first two gears exclusive to 360. So technically it could happen. But most likely it won't.

I would love Splinter Cell: Conviction. It looks like the best Splinter Cell yet. Granted, i could just get the pc copy (another reason for me to not own a 360), but having it on my ps3 would be nice. Gears doesnt interest me at all, i have a color tv, so why would i only want to see only varying shades of brown?
Left4Dead is such a mediocre game that i will actually be pissed if Valve ports it to the ps3 (though the good news is that HL3 might be on ps3 then).
Fable II on ps3 would blow my freaking mind. I've been waiting for a pc port, but i will buy it for ps3 on day one. The first Fable was one of my favorite xbox games. MS owns Lionhead though, so its a very slim chance that will happen.

I wish it is Lost Odyssey, altho I know it is highly unlikely, but it will be awesome addition to fix the drought of PS3 epic JRPGs, if they fix some of the lagging problem and polish more, and then 3 years later release Lost Odyssey 2 on PS3. :D

Yes Ben, that has been one of my three biggest wishes for PS3 so far.

1. Make a Lost Odyssey 2 and release on PS3.
2. Square team up the original Chrono Trigger talent and make a new Chrono game on PS3.
3. Make an ICO 3 on PS3, which is now underway, namely "The Last Guardian". ;)

Sorry but Lost Odyssey does, so it isn't likely to be Lost Odyssey coming to PS3.
Infinite Undiscovery has the dreaded "ONLY ON XBOX360" box too so it isn't that either.
High hopes is for Star Ocean 4 since it doesn't have that ugly little box on it.

haha, same here, my 120+ hours on Lost Odyssey and 80+ hours on Blue Dragon, those two already took up almost 40% of my 360 game stock, plus IU and Last Remnant and DOA4 :D

It wont be any game published by Microsoft Game studios, so that rules out the Fables, Gears of War, Forza, etc.

Interesting choices by all of you. Mass Effect is probably the best bet. Really, there aren't any 360 exclusives I would want to play other than Lost Odyssey and Tales Of Vesperia and the latter will be making its way to the PS3 soon.

I got wut u r saying, but "x360 doesnt have any game..." -- that is a bit extreme, altho I rarely touch my 360, it does bring fun to me with the few games I have.

Also Lost Odyssey is NOT a mega flop, imo that is the best JRPG this gen so far, too bad Mistwalker is funded by Microsoft, therefore chances for it to come to PS3 is very very slim.

From the standpoint that I want to see 360 fanboys' heads to explode with anger I wouldn't mind seeing "Halo" or more preferable "Gears of War" make the jump to the PS3. But I agree with people it could be "Mass Effect" because EA owns the rights and the only loyalty EA has is making money.

I keep reading ppl say something along the lines of "We're entitled to a XBox exclusive, because of MGS: Rising." WTF? LOL!
Did you fail to notice that for every new game the xbox360 gets...Sony is 2-3 new exclusives. They need the games, Sony doesn't.
Look I hope its Mass Effect (because a lot of the PS community would enjoy a game like that) but its probably one of those XBLA titles.

-Valve can keep L4D because that game looks like Wii-ish graphically. I want their PS3 team to make Half-Life 3 shine on the PS3. They can keep the rest.
-We already got an upgraded Ninja Gaiden 2 (Sigma 2 has 4 playable characters and co-op).
-Gears & Halo would just clash with other PS3 titles like Killzone, Resistance, Uncharted, and Quantum.
-Lost Odyssey & Fable 2: Sure, a lil' late but sure why not? I think they wouldn't clash with the PS3 RPGs (Demon's Souls, WKC, DC Universe, The Agency) too much.
-Dead Rising: Possible since Dead Rising 2 is coming to the 3. And the Sony Community knows Capcom is our friend.
-Crackdown seems a lil too late.

What other games does M$ have that we want to play?...Not much that for sure.

haha if that happened in PS2/Xbox era, I would then totally have ditched the black bulky BOX. The only one of the two games I had for the box back then was DOA3, and the other one was Ninja Gaiden :D

I think there was DOA2 and DOA2 Hardcore on PS2, I have DOA2 for Dreamcast (beautiful game even now) and DOA3, Xtreme Beach Volleyball, with proper nude skins (What? I like modding), and DOA Ultimate on the big black box. 5 would be welcome on my shiny black beasty.

Yep! DOA Hardcore was pretty good on the PS2 and i thought the graphics were very nice for a early title.
By the way Word, unrelated to this post, I'm also glad I'm not the only one who thought the graphics on SC: Conviction looked weak. Also for what I saw it does not add much in the gameplay department either.
Now Allan Wake has me ready to upgrade my video card on my PC.

Ben and or Arnold not forgetting John probably already know what this is as Ben knows what the so called PS3 exclusive is and they cannot tell us for the reason until some embargo has lifted.

Why oh why then wet our so so hungry appetites for stuff like this when you know we cannot be told anything ?

my money goes on mass effect 2.
it wont be splinter cell conviction because 1 ubisoft have denied it a million times.
and 2 they said the engine is designed for the 360 from the top, so they would have to build a new engine for the ps3 copy.
if its a game already released for the 360 it may be prey.
it wont be L4D2 because its to close to release, valve have just started to look for coders by the time they find them and get started the game will be out.
mayb a port over next year but than they would have to do the first one first.
supposedly their looking for ps3 coders for a big new IP high budget so to make their cash back there exploring all platforms so i sincerely doubt L4D
hey mayb its L4D 1 but doubt it.

if it's a popular game for the 360 it's either gears, or halo thats all they really have for their Popular games.

Fable would be nice, never played the second one but when i had an orginal xbox i played the first one all the time, i loved beating my wife and then killing her father who owned the village :)
