Capcom On SFIV: Sagat And Seth "A Little Stronger Than Expected"
How many times have you fighting fans screamed at the screen, "he's overpowered! It's so fu**ing lame! I hate this sh**"...? And how many times have you wanted the developer to simply stand up and admit their mistake?
Well, your day has finally come: if you're one of many who believed that Seth and Sagat had unfair advantages over their opponents in Street Fighter IV, Capcom is about to vindicate your beliefs. According to VideoGamer, SFIV assistant producer Ryota Niitsuma admitted that both characters were too powerful. When asked if any of them had an unfair edge, he responded, "Well, first of all I might have to apologize! Does he involve being slightly blinded and scarred [laughs]?" He then went on to say that both Sagat and Seth "might have turned out a little stronger than expected," but maintained that skilled players could still beat them with other fighters. However, in the recent "Street Fighter IV European Championship," the UK's Ryan Hart beat France's Alioune Camara...and both players picked Sagat. In this way, Niitsuma's comments about "anybody can beat anybody" seems out of whack, but then again, none of the top 3 SFIV players in the world use either Sagat or Seth; two use Ryu and the other uses Dhalsim. It may be an ongoing debate amongst fighting purists, but when one of the game's designers freely admits that two of the characters might be too powerful...well, that's a pretty big deal.
Now, all we need is to have some RPG developers admit that AI enemies cheat every now and then (oh yes, another critical hit when I'm low on health...amazing), and we'll be all set.

Strange thing the first time I faced Seth with Ryu I didn't experience that much trouble with him but after that it was like pulling a tooth out of Godzilla's mouth with that thing from the board game "Operation"

Of course, the same could also be said, power wise, for Blanka in CvS2 (Capcom vs SNKII: Mark of the Millenium). He was unstoppable in that game.
Oh yeah, and gimme Gran Turismo 5!!!!
That is all.

It may seem BS, but remember, as with all SF's, the difficulty increases each match you get into, in story mode. I wouldn't want it any other way really. I detested Marvel vs Capcom for just this reason. The end boss was a joke.
I'm not trying to dis anyone, far from it. Simply, I've been playing Street Fighter games almost everyday, for the past 12 years or so. Give or take a week or two here and there. It's simply the same amount of difficulty you'd see with any end boss.
However, give players the time to learn Seth, as we've all had with M Bison, and I'd venture to guess that eventually, players will be in tune w/ his move sets, just as quickly and efficiently as the CPU player is.

The tiger knee does great at stopping the Spinning attack, btw, goes right through it at close to medium range.

On the topic of RPG AI, how about the RPG AI that has the enemies seemingly obtaining limitless boost so they can jump line in a turn based combat system, time after time after time....even though it's very early in the fight.

I wonder if they'll ever release downloadable characters for SF4? I'd love to play as Dee Jay. :)
