PSXE Poll Update: The PS3 Slim May Be Imminent
So with all these rumors floating around concerning the very real possibility of a PS3 Slim, we wanted to know what our readers thought.
Well, it seems a great many of you are quite optimistic: the majority of you believe the PS3 Slim will be unveiled at some point this year, and it will come along with a price cut. And if you don't believe that, you think the PS3 Slim might be the real deal, but we won't be getting the benefit of a price drop. For our part, we believe the PS3 Slim is very real, although it may not be officially revealed until the Tokyo Game Show this fall. As for a price cut, we're not sure, but we believe there's a good chance that at least one of the PS3 models (whatever they may be) available for the holidays will be cheaper than $400. Earlier this year, we theorized that if there was to be a price cut, it would come with the arrival of a huge PS3 exclusive; inFamous is already gone, and next on the list would be Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. To have this title launch with a more attractively-priced PS3 would be absolutely gigantic for Sony, and if you toss a new, slimmer machine into the mix...well, that oughta have quite the impact.
But now we move to a topic that has been in the news a lot lately: the subject of motion sensing technology in video games. It has really come into the limelight since Sony and Microsoft unveiled their new plans for advanced motion sensing for the PS3 and 360, but not everyone is enamored with the idea. There have been conflicting theories between gamers and industry insiders alike, so what's your take? Let us know.

1] not shoot themselves in the foot; i.e. try to stave off any hint of when a price cut will come in order to continue maximising sales of the current model.
2] at the same time continue generating hype so that when a price cut does occur there will be a rush to purchase the hardware and the packaged AAA title (that will most probably be released with the new hardware).
Either way, when the price cut does come... and we all know it is coming sooner rather than later... a wave of exuberance will travel around the globe at the speed of light egging even the most "die-hard-against-buying-a-ps3-now" gamer to rush out and get it... and what a day that will be...
...by July 2010; I will be surprised if Sony has not caught up to the 360, and quite possibly surpassed it.
Thoughts?

so they would be wise to not use that title for the drop.
im pretty sure anyone who wants to play uncharted 2 will buy a ps3 at its current price.
there better off doing it for ratchet and clank future crack in time.
when future tools came out, for months there was heaps of copies left on the shelf, it dident sell to well.
may be if it was bundled with the ps3 that would push its sales up a little higher.
insomniac needs all the moolah they can get to continue with the amazing titles there giving us.
either that or mag, but thats apparently not coming till jan 2010.
another exclusive bites the dust whats next?
R&C?
if that slipped into 2010 the whole world would evaporate from my rage.

The launch-alongside-madden conspiracy makes the most sense from what I've heard so far. American football and a new, maybe cheaper PS3 just in time for the holiday rush.
Actually, the best time for a price cut would "Black Friday," the day American women lose their sanity to pursue "once-in-a-lifetime" sales.

Motion Controls would be a great addition to the system just as long as there is "the" choice to use it in-game. Build enough impact and delivery then I wouldn't mind future games using such technology.
