Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Coming For The Holidays?
With all the blockbusters scheduled for the holidays, it's easy to forget that still more may join the fray...
Thankfully, some huge titles have already been delayed into 2010, giving the industry - and gamers - some breathing room for the time between October and December of this year. However, fans of the original Battlefield: Bad Company may have to add the sequel to their Christmas wish list, as it seems EA is listing it with a "Winter 2009" release estimate. Before this, we had seen "Q4 2009," so we can't really decide if "winter" is an upgrade; technically speaking, it kinda isn't. But it's not like EA to miss big market opportunities, and to present Bad Company 2 to the FPS fans for the holidays is a damn good opportunity. The estimated release can be found on EA's website, and we honestly hope this one will make it out in November or December. The first title was both fun and technically solid, and here's what we can expect from the sequel:
"A direct sequel to last year's console-exclusive game, Bad Company 2 picks back up with the Derelicte B Company, which comprises a fictitious U.S. military's expendable misfits and outcasts. Destructible environments, which were a core component of the original game, will again play front and center in Bad Company 2, thanks to further revisions to its proprietary Frostbite game engine. Seriously, it's just about fun. Granted, they may not want to do battle with Activision's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, but there may be room for both on store shelves this year.
