Guerrilla: We Need To "Reflect On What Is Actually Out There"
It's Thursday, the now-traditional update day for the PlayStation Network, and the third DLC pack for Killzone 2 - Napalm & Cordite - is now available for download.
But this will mark the end of DLC for a little while, as it appears that Guerrilla plans to "step back" and take a breather. According to what Producer Seb Downie said over at the European PlayStation Blog, the team wants to sit back and take a gander at the industry landscape. Said Downie:
"Right now we’re going to take a step back from Killzone 2. We’ve been working non-stop since the disc version was released on patches, DLC and http://www.killzone.com updates, so need some time to reflect on what is actually out there."
Now, this may mark the end of all DLC for KZ2, or it just might be Guerrilla trying to snag some much-deserved downtime. These days, we all have to remember that the process of game development doesn't end with the launch of the title; the advent of downloadable content has expanded the work week, so-to-speak. But what is more interesting about Downie's comment is that when he says they want to see "what is actually out there," that may indicate a shift in the team's direction... We're all anticipating Killzone 3, but might Guerrilla try something new?
Anyway, talk on that if you wish, and remember that if you haven't snagged any of the three DLC packs for KZ2 yet, Sony will soon release a Map Pack Bundle that will feature all of 'em. We'll let you know when there's a date and price attached to the package.

Guess I'll finish it off, and get the third DLC.
I don't see why people complain that $6 is expensive. It's the price of a burger and a drink... not like it's gonna make you broke anytime soon. I get more entertainment value from any DLC maps than a $12 movie, so I don't see what the problem is...
