Pre-Order Arkham Asylum, Receive Exclusive Challenge Map
All these pre-order incentives are giving us a headache. Pretty soon, we're just gonna have five bucks scattered around on a half-dozen different releases, just so we're guaranteed of snagging the corresponding goodies.
As for Batman: Arkham Asylum, you already know about the Collectors Edition that will give you a freakin' Batarang, but in order to further tickle your buying bone, GameStop has a pre-order deal. According to Joystiq, if you drop your deposit on this most promising superhero title, you will receive an exclusive Challenge Map entitled, "Dem Bones." This is where the Caped Crusader will tackle an army of Scarecrow's undead minions and in all honesty, we just never expected to see Batman battling skeletons. That's a new one. If you haven't played the demo yet - it was up and running in some GameStop stores earlier this summer - you're missing out on a taste of some super fluid and super fun action. Eidos claims this is definitely one of the biggest and best game productions they've ever produced, and Rocksteady Studios has already shown off plenty of eye-catching preview video. With an impressive combination of brutal hand-to-hand combat and stealth elements, the game appears to have everything the avid Batman fan could want. Perhaps best of all, it's not based on any one movie, so in our eyes, it automatically has a better shot of being great.
Batman: Arkham Asylum is scheduled to arrive in stores on August 25. It was initially set for June but it seems they needed a bit more time...fine by us, provided the final product is well worth the wait. And it should be.
