Hirai To Deliver "New Strategy For 2009" Keynote At TGS
He officially unveiled the PSP Go for all the world to see at E3, and now, SCE CEO Kazuo Hirai will be delivering the keynote address during this year's Tokyo Game Show.
His speech will be entitled, "New Strategy For 2009," but we don't have any exact details in regards to the content of this interesting talk. He will come to the stage at 10:30 a.m. Tokyo time on September 24, and his presentation will only be one-half of this year's address. As the second part, the expanded session will include a roundtable discussion called, "Perspectives and Strategies of the Top Manufacturers in the Global Age." Those participating in this will be Square-Enix president Yoichi Wada, Sony president of worldwide studios Shuhei Yoshida, and Capcom president Haruhiro Tsujimoto. If you're not familiar with a TGS show, the first two days are only for the business professionals, while the latter part of the show is for the viewing public. Last year, TGS 2008 broke the attendance record by drawing in 194,000 attendees...which, by the way, is nearly five times what E3 drew back in July. Obviously, everyone will be hoping to hear news of a PlayStation 3 price drop or the new PS3 Slim; rumors have been dominating headlines for most of 2009. If such an announcement does arrive, we'll be all over it, even if we won't be in Japan to actually hear it ourselves (but hearing it online is good enough).
The Tokyo Game Show is by far the biggest video game event of the year in terms of sheer numbers, and when about 200,000 people descend upon such an event in a four-day span, that's pretty damn huge.

The Agency, Blade & Soul, Resonance of Fate (not exclusive), ALL 3 FF13 games, DC Universe Online, WKC, and FF14.
I don't think I can find the time to play anymore jrpgs if they announce brand-new ones. I do wanna get any update on Quantum (Where you at, TECMO?).

Good and I hope it stays that way! I hope Sony can keep a secret this time around.
As a fan, it's a cool to hear rumors and stuff upcoming, but it is a let down when Sony's presentations have already been leaked out.

The TGS is bigger, and held in the home country for two of the leaders of the video game industry. There is a gaming market outside the US, and it's not dominated by Microsoft. Not that you'd know it by reading the majority of video game news sites - that just don't "get" that the world is bigger than the English speaking world. At least some (like PSX) seem to get it.

'Til we get an announemenr that either(preferably both) of those are coming to the US and EU then I won't be getting excited for number 4 just yet-and as I cannot afford Japanese lessons that could be a BIG wait. More and more games seem to be avoiding the west this generation and the EU especially.
