Sigma 2 Collectors Edition Features 80-Page Book
At this point, just about every last significant release is gonna have a Collectors Edition of some sort...it's almost inevitable this generation.
As revealed by News10, GameStop will exclusively offer a Collectors Edition for the impending Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 (which we have already played, by the way). Rather than a bunch of different items jammed into the package, it will simply feature an 80-page book that will feature:
- A 30-page Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 prologue comic written and designed by Team NINJA
- Mini-Strategy Guide: A starter guide covering Ryu, Ayane, Momiji, and Rachel's weapons, ninpos, Story Mode basics, Team Missions and more
- Art Gallery: A peek at various character concept artwork
- Commentary from Team NINJA producer Yosuke Hayashi and the team's lead artists
As if that isn't enough, if you pre-order your copy, you will get an exclusive downloadable costume on the PlayStation Network...no word on whether or not it will be a string bikini for Rachel or Ayane. Remember the Venus swimsuit in Dead or Alive: Xtreme Beach Volleyball...? 'cough' Anyway, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 is set to release on September 29, and you can bet it's going to appeal to all the hardcore action fans out there (as the NG titles always do).

I mean seriously think about it...for almost 90% of every single game coming out...there's always an extra so they can capture most of the consumers on release day. I applaud their effort...but it's just sort of not working on me. I like the game itself.
Now if it's for a franchise like Metal Gear or Final Fantasy...I would completely understand why someone would go on first day release not just because of the game but for some extras.
But I hope the best for publishers.

Funnily enough Americans have a far higher tolerance for violence and gore, and the Xbox360 (which the game was previously on) is the predominant HD game console in America.
