Follow-Up To The Darkness Confirmed But Starbreeze Not Involved
It was one of the first great games of the new generation, and the instant we finished it, we knew we wanted a sequel. But it has been a long wait for fans of The Darkness, as we first heard about the possibility of a second title way back in April of 2008.
Well, perhaps that early announcement was premature, but we can finally begin to anticipate a sequel. According to Top Cow Productions' Marc Silvestri, a follow-up is indeed in the works; he revealed as much during the publisher's panel at this year's Comic-Con event. However, we don't currently know who the developer is; Starbreeze will not be returning to handle the sequel, which will come as a disappointment to those who enjoyed the original title. As Starbreeze CEO Johan Kristiansson said to VG247:
"I heard that there were talks about a Darkness sequel, but Starbreeze is not involved in anything like that right now. We are busy on two projects together with EA."
Okay, well, Top Cow had better have a talented developer working on The Darkness 2 (if that is indeed what it will be called), because we have great respect for Starbreeze. On the good side, Top Cow has announced that the original game will soon be added to the Greatest Hits lineup for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, which means you'll be able to snag it for only $29.99. We know the game came out early and it's unlikely that many of you had your PS3s yet, so perhaps you missed out. It may seem a little outdated now, but trust us, it's a damn cool experience.

I would strongly recommend everyone pick it up before it becomes a "Greatest/Platinum Hits" I bought it about two weeks ago to add to my collection for $12, don't wait and miss out on this gem.
I can't wait to hear more about the sequel though.

but it was way way way to short the next one needs to be longer and have a proper story line.
the last was pathetic, but the cutscenes when you die were creepy and cool.
more horror games should do that.
that and dead space death animations are classics, like when issac gets his head sliced off and runns arround headless.
thats 1 thing i dont understand dark sector got banned here because of limb chopping, but NG2 got through untouched and jesus crist thats the most violent video game ive ever played.
