GameStop $20 Sale: Street Fighter IV, F.E.A.R. 2, More

If you want to take advantage of the best sales, you gotta move quickly. In this particular case, you only have until the end of the week to nab some top-notch titles for only twenty bucks!

As reported by Examiner.com, GameStop will be discounting several titles at both their online website and in their brick-and-mortar stores, and you can nab some stellar games for only $19.99. Street Fighter IV, just released this past February, heads the list, but there are other notables, including F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin, Lair, and Silent Hill: Homecoming. For all you budget hounds, here's the full list:

  • Animal Crossing: City Folk Game Only (Nintendo Wii)
  • Donkey Kong Jungle Beat (Nintendo Wii)
  • Excitebots: Trick Racing Game Only (Nintendo Wii)
  • F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin (Playstation 3 and Xbox 360)
  • Lair (Playstation 3)
  • MadWorld (Nintendo Wii)
  • Mario & Sonic at Olympic Games (Nintendo Wii)
  • Silent Hill: Homecoming (Xbox 360)
  • Street Fighter IV (Playstation 3 and Xbox 360)
  • Wanted: Weapons of Fate (Playstation 3 and Xbox 360)
  • Wario Land: Shake It (Nintendo Wii)
  • Wii Music (Nintendo Wii)

This sale runs from now through August 2, which means you've only got a few days to act. Also, bear in mind that Lair now has the option of analog controls (the motion-only setup is what initially killed it and really annoyed critics). There might be other games on there that will attract your interest, and if you've been considering a purchase, now's the time to strike.

Somewhere (don't remember where, sorry) I read a re-review of Lair with the analog stick controls. They basically concluded that while it was better, the game still wasn't very good...

You could order it off the internet. I just ordered Lair with a $2.99 shipping charge. 2.99 is cheaper than driving for 3 hours, considering time and gas.

I found my receipt and the game is still sealed. I guess I'll be returning it so that I can get SFIV at 19.99. Yeah, baby! I see they have SBK for cheap too.

Well, it looks like Gamestop/EB shafts Canada once again. This are all still regular price here. I was going to order Street Fighter IV off the US Web site (if you want a REALLY good laugh, compare EB Games' US Web site to their Canadian Web site) but after shipping ($14.99 US) and conversion rates, the game would've ended up costing me roughly $40 Canadian. I'll have to pass.

yea, i hear you, i am from canada too. but for me, i ordered silent hill homecoming, SF4 and Heavenly Sword, each at 19.99, 19.99 and 29.99 respectively (they are all full price here in EB canada store), therefore the shipping cost is shared among three games to bring down the cost each game. I just ordered last night.

p.s. the last time, I pre-ordered blazBlue limited edition from EB US site, plus the shipping everything, it is around 98 CAD, so i figured out it is not worth it to just order one game. but I am still happpy about the game and the free Artbook I got from the order and right now it is literally impossible to get the limited edition anymore, and some website is selling the game for 100+ dollars from the sellers. :O

The SFIV deal started yesterday at 10am and there was a line outside. You can still buy it online, but most stores are already sold out.

They can keep the Wii games. Just got Wanted for 12.99 at BB ... SFIV looks like a good deal but I can't bring myself to go to GS for it. I'll wait for the next price drop.

SF4 is pretty much sold out everywhere in Central Texas at that price. They had limited copies to begin with :(

Last time I checked online Highland mall still had some SF4. I was lucky enough to get one at Southpark Meadow, but I think they are sold out now. You can still buy a copy online.

I ordered Lair tuesday night and it was setting on my porch today when I got off work. That's kind of a record for shipments to my house. They must have wanted to get rid of this game quick.

Yeah. They claim the price went back to normal (on July 29th) because their stock was very low. Lots of people got shafted because many stores still had the product in stock.
