Deep Red And Metallic Blue PS3 Controllers Revealed

Before I introduce these controllers you see here, forgive me for going on a bit of a rant.

While it's certainly true that Japan still gets things that we never see here in North America, I simply can't understand why we're so limited in terms of color options when it comes to video game hardware and accessories. Why? What poll proved that Japanese gamers are more interested in multiple cosmetic choices than American gamers? How much more money does it really take to colorize something and just send it our way? Japan has like 73 colors to choose from when it comes to the PSP, for example, and we've got like 2. Well, anyway, end rant and here are two new PlayStation 3 controllers that are indeed coming to the US...and you can see why. They're "Deep Red" and "Metallic Blue," which may or may not indicate the arrival of same-colored PS3s. According to Engadget, Sony will have these controllers ready to go in October, so maybe you can add one to your holiday wish list. Hey, I don't mind black (that's classic), and both silver and white are just fine, but there's nothing wrong with adding some more vibrant colors to our entertainment centers.

Hmm...maybe they'll offer the PS3 Slim in Deep Red or Metallic Blue. Maybe we'll get that announcement at the Tokyo Game Show. ...maybe we're all on pins and needles awaiting that announcement.

I'm kinda conservative, I like the original black ones. I feel these would stick out like a sore thumb next to the black PS3. But variety isn't a bad thing.

I'm such a sucker for colored controllers

By the way can they give us an option for no triggers? Freaking triggers are garbage and die out in a matter of months

That's why I still (kinda) prefer the Dualshock2

i mean they aren't such a bad thing, but they aren't stellar either

that's why i think the triggers are here to stay, at least until ps4 comes out

Maybe Americans don't get color controllers because whenever they DO release colors they're stupid metallic blue and red that no one wants! Where's the white, yellow or hot pink?

Pink DS. Remember that? Nearly every girl on the planet got one. Can't we have a pink Dualshock3 ? I'm just saying... maybe my wife would actually pick up the controller if there were choices other than blue and red. What? Blue and red have to sell well before they bring other colors? Who decided that?

im fairley sure that these wont come to europe, nothing ever does (ok, say maybe what i said there was wrong.... only the standard stuff does) we have still not seen the white controller! and i'd love a white slimline ps3

i have just had what i think is a good thaught.... changable parts for ps3, like faceplates and stuff, anyways... what im getting at is that in the end there is different plastics with different colours, different pictures... whatver you want. why not?

Have you seen how cheap a faceplate looks? Like "hang on" parts on a rice rocket. And we know they wouldn't sell the body of the controller because opening them up is an automatic void of the warranty.

Wow. I wish they would do this stuff earlier for the people that already have PS3s. I've got plenty of DS3s because of the kids and would like to get these but there's no point, other than the color. I may just have to break down and get the blue one and just have yet another extra. I like assorted colors.

is it just me or do "Deep Red" and "Metalic blue" just look like....red and blue.

anyways, they're a bit too bright for me, I'd go for a bit darker versions of both though

Kinda reminds me of the good ole days... Ah the many colors of the N64 controllers... I had like all of them at one point or another... I would totally have more controllers if there were different colors... i just feel like it makes them more unique to me and its cooler that way...

while i dont think its bad to offer more choice, i couldnt stand having a bright blue machine sitting smack in the middle of my entertainment system. black works perfect for me.

as far as controllers go, my brother and i are STILL arguing over which controller is actually better, so having bright red and blue controllers will at least help settle that... =D

I'd be cool if they made a clear one but painted the inside black, and had blue border like the blue light from WipEout HD. Almost glowing blue. Mmm.

Thats great news and I really am happy because I too dislike it when other regions get things that others don't. However I'm from Australia, any news on whether they'll spread down under? Plus I've had my ps3 for nearly 2 years now, I already have 3 controllers, but I guess one more wouldn't hurt, for the right price that is, none of this current $95 crap!
