Braid Confirmed For PSN

It's arguably the best Xbox Live Arcade downloadable exclusive out there...except it won't be exclusive for much longer.

The news first broke a few days ago when German website USK rated Braid for the PlayStation Network; the USK is like the ESRB here in the U.S. as they give age restriction classification for video games in that region. The rating in question reads: "Released without an age restriction under section 14." Now, this can't really be construed as an official announcement, but that announcement wasn't long in coming. A Hothead Games representative confirmed with IGN that Braid was indeed coming to the PSN. We don't have a release date or price just yet, but we assume that information will come about within the next few months, and all you avid PSN users should be excited. We've got our fantastic exclusives, too (Wipeout HD, echochrome, Shatter, Fat Princess, etc.), but the addition of Braid shouldn't be seen as anything but positive. It remains one of the best received and most popular downloadable titles out there, and we really can't wait to get our hands on it.

We'll let you know when Hothead delivers the release information but in the meantime, feel free to check out some Braid reviews. You won't find a negative one.

Most of the exclusive games on PSN are too big for XBLA. You'll never see Flower or Wipeout HD on XBLA, the 360 couldn't handle either of them.

They still have some nice exclusives like 'Splosion Man but in 2009 PSN has 2 good exclusive games for every one on XBLA and WiiWare it seems.

Actually, most of the PSN exclusives are either developed by Sony in-house developers or the developers (like thatgamecompany) have signed exclusive deals for their PSN games.

The tables are turned.
Who were the ones yapping bout Sony losing great exclusives back in 2007 and 2008?

CC and Braid are certainlly excelent game addition to the PSN, but Braid was originally going to be a PSN exclusive and sony passed them up... I'm surprised that he's going to release it on PSN at all after being snubbed.

It supposed to be an homage to 16-bit gaming. Hence, the dated look. However, many critics have applauded the game for its gameplay and story.

Don't be fooled by screenshots. I've got this on PC and it is one of the greatest mind bending puzzlers I've ever played...

and I'm not really into puzzlers, so thats saying something.

I played the OSX version of Braid and wasnt really impressed. Imo, it was just a game 360 fanboys used to brag about how the 360 has it and the ps3 doesnt.
Im glad that its coming to PSN and everyone can now enjoy it, but its just not a game for me.

Shouldnt be a hard port for the developers. The whole game can probably run just fine on the single ppc core in the ps3.

Finally, a Xbox game I genuinely want to play. So many critics gave Braid high-praise. Hope its reasonably priced.

I'm aware. So is Trine but that doesn't mean I'm gonna spend $30 on a short game that would be cheaper on PSN.

Im glad CC and Braid are coming. Especially CC, that game looks amazingly fun.

Im also super happy that these titles are not the 2 xbox games that have not been announced making their way to the ps3.

I played the Braid demo awhile back and it was okay, I'd buy as long as it was priced right.
