Braid Creator Reveals The Witness
We're really keeping an eye on talented and innovative developers that produce small downloadable titles this generation, because we've already seen what they can do. The more we see games like Flower and Braid, the more we'll continue to pay attention.
As you should know by now, the former Xbox Live exclusive Braid will soon be headed to the PlayStation Network, which means we'll have yet another unique, top-quality title to choose from when we log onto the PSN. The good news is that the game's creator, Jonathan Blow, has launched a teaser website for this new project, called The Witness. The description there says it's an "exploration-puzzle game on an uninhabited island," and it's slated to release for "multiple platforms" in late 2011. Furthermore, as noted by Strategy Informer, Blow says the game is "very visual" and that once they've developed those impressive visuals a bit more, we'll get our first glimpse of The Witness. We're not entirely sure what an "exploration-puzzle" game is, but we most certainly want to find out; downloadable games have often been very original and quite engaging over the past year, so we're not surprised by new ideas.
And although the specified platforms weren't listed, we just have to assume that both the PS3 and 360 are included, what with Braid going multi. We're also assuming this is a downloadable title, although that may be an incorrect assumption as well... Either way, we'll keep you posted.
