Capcom Teases New Sequel That Will "Blow Your Mind"

This is where you can start hemming and hawing over the mystery game in question, and before you even ask, NO, this isn't the secret PlayStation 3 exclusive that we at PSXE know about. That remains vaulted.

Anyway, Capcom has teased the snot out of the entire gaming community by issuing a Tweet, which very clearly hints at a brand new sequel. Supposedly, whatever it is, it's gonna "blow our minds." Here's the message for those of you who are morally opposed to the idea of Twitter (we know you people are out there, and we don't necessarily blame you):

"In five, we're having a meeting to discuss a new game sequel that will BLOW YOUR MIND when you find out about it... much, much later."

The bad news is that "much, much later" part, but what do you think it might be? We've been pining for Devil May Cry 5 ever since the fourth installment gave us so much quality entertainment, although we get the feeling they're already working on that. We suppose it could be another Resident Evil or Monster Hunter or something, but neither would be any big surprise. Perhaps it's a project like Okami 2...? They just did a new Street Fighter and we already know about Lost Planet 2...maybe a Phoenix Wright for home consoles (instead of handhelds)? Or, for the RPG fans, how's about a new Breath of Fire?

Well, really, it could be just about anything. Check the stable of Capcom franchises to see what "new game sequel" they could be referring to; in the meantime, we'll just have to wait for more info.

DMC5 will blow my mind, I will be very thrilled to know that if there is indeed a sequel.

P.s. DMC4 still one of the best action adventure on my PS3 so far.

the stages were so good, they made us repeat them twice, bosses were so kick ass, we fought them 3 times!! Awesome /sarcasm

I hope if it is a new DMC its much better than what they put out last time, Capcom has been a let down for me this gen as far as games they have put out on ps3 is concerned, but yeah, im sure im in the minority

To me Capcom has been great this gen. Only maybe games like DMC4 and RE5 play the same way from last gen. Maybe they could change things a bit but then again i think capcom have been quite awesome this year cause i enjoyed DMC4,SFIV to RE5, and RE5 is my personal favorite.

A new Onimusha from Capcom would be just about the best possible secret I could think of. Other than Capcom vs SNK for PS3...I'd take that first.

Onimusha is awesome!

Though if they make a sequel, they best return to their old roots. As each title came out, it was moving from horror adventure towards action adventure. Onimusha 2 was just perfect though.

Okami didn't sell well enough to have a "mind blowing" sequel. I think this is just a bunch of corporate BS to generate hype (for Capcom in general).

It might be "mind blowing", if they did an Okami sequel with the new PS3 motion controller. That might sell... depending on how well the controller is received by the time the game comes out.

That would be pretty cool. I think co-op would be killer and add tons of strategy. And the graphics would probably be some of the best out there for a multi-platform game.

I dont see how it can blow my mind if its not exclusive to a console. Im probably sounding like a fanboy, but I havent played any games that are multiplatform that 'blew my mind'. Ever.

Gears of war blew my mind. And thats 360 exclusive.

Metal Gear Solid 4 blew my mind. And thats ps3 exclusive.

Though - more exclusives on the ps3 blew my mind then on the 360. Fat Princess anyone. :D

What?! I'm a huge fan of the Devil May Cry series and I just have to disagree.
Devil May Cry 4 wasn't that bad it obviously wasn't as great has Devil May Cry 3 but I enjoyed it.
Honestly it just seems as if repetition has just caused a negative effect on some gamers D: D: D:

it was quite obvious it wasent the exclusive ben knows, because capcom are to greedy to keep a game exclusive.
hell lost planet 2 looked impossible to come to the ps3 date to date and it is.
id say DMC5.
but this time BRING BACK VERGIL!!!!!!!!!
and change the level design and boss battles.
the boss battles and level design was 10 times better in DMC3.
and have 3 disks.
1 playing as dante.
1 playing as vergil.
and 1 playing as nero.
have each of the 3 charachters have their own storyline and moves different levels.
thats my main gripe with DMC4 dantes lvls are a replay of neros.
make this the final end all game, link the characters like what nero has to do with the DMC storyline and how his arm got that way.
go off with a bang, all questions will be answered and once the game ends you will be left with your jaw smashed through the floor.
doubt that would ever happen capcom are to greedy and would never spend that much dough.
but one can dream.
o and a PROPER bionic comando the last one while cool and fun was also annoying and repetitive and EXTREMELY short.

I don't think a new DMC will be so mind blowing considering 4 came out last year.I'm hoping for a game that hasn't seen the next gen yet, and the only game that I could think of that would blow my mind is....Strider.

Unless the honour of Konami letting them dev a Castlevania game is in the works I'm likely to not be "mind blown". I wonder if this is (YET) another fighter -- Mega Man/Street Fighter vs. Marvel/DC would at least get a read, but a pass on play/buy from me.

Okami....Capcoms best ever publish....and Clovers best. I'm sad they're gone but, i hope they are proud that they dared break the mould and delivered one of the most original, artistic and greatest games of all time.

I suppose if we want a sequel for it, Platinum games will be the team as that's where most of Clover is now.

Capcom were fools to dissolve Clover.

I believe they are already working on RE6 that will be "a step up" from the series, I have been thinking about Breathe of Fire lately, put the games in the PS Store please! Isn't the creator of DMC almost done with Bayonetta so perhaps it will be a 6th installment of DMC. I also thought they were already working on another Dino Crisis.

they said a sequel that'll blow our minds so it has to be something old and dying. like a new megaman for example. everyone already expects a dmc sequel, and also it had to of been popular enough to be revived. so onimusha sounds possible

MARVEL VS. CAPCOM 3

They said that us will find out much, much later because they want MvC2 to sell A LOT OF COPIES. Think about it, if you knew that MvC3 is coming would you still buy MvC2??

It is just what they did SFII turbo HD REMIX and SFIV. They didnt announced the release date for SFIV, so you needed to buy the HD remix in order to calm your SF necessity. lol

If that isnt the game then most probably is:

DEVIL MAY CRY 5

And they will announce it in TGS 09
