Activision Outlines Various Pre-Order Incentives For Blur
Everyone is on pins and needles anticipating the announcement of a 2009 launch date for Gran Turismo 5, but not everyone enjoys the uber-simulated racing feel.
Some may be interested in the more accessible Blur and if so, you should know that Activision has announced the pre-order incentives for the game that retailers have scheduled for release on November 3. These retail-exclusive incentives are big these days. If you decide to drop your five bucks down at GameStop, you'll receive an "Exclusive Multiplayer Advantage Booster Kit," which nets you a Ford Bronco (um, yippee?), a "Double Fans" bonus for the first 10 multiplayer races, and an exclusive "Last Man Standing" multiplayer survival mode. Not a bad deal, right? But maybe you're more intrigued by Game Crazy's offering, which is double cash for the first three single-layer races. Pre-ordering at Best Buy will get you a code to unlock the Dodge Hennessey Viper that, for all intents and purposes, sounds more appealing than the Bronco. But that extra mode you have access to if you pre-order from GameStop sounds a bit more appealing to us... Once again, it's up to you; which incentives will coerce you into a pre-order?
No, it's not GT5 but then again, it isn't necessarily supposed to be. We think the game looks decent and we're definitely hoping for a fast, entertaining racer for the holiday rush.

And Infinity Ward can go the same way 'til they distance themselves from what Acti are trying to pull with their game. As for Blur-it really doesn't look up to matching the competition. By that I mean the rebooted NFS games coming out and not the sublime likes of GT5 so no matter what crass temptations theyu put in my way they can count on me never buying a damn thing they publish these days.
They're worse than EA ever were and the sad thing is they'll get away with conning the UK and my fellow Ebglish gamers will still buy the inflated price for MW2 without a murmur.
