Guitar Hero: Van Halen Shreds US Shelves On December 22
Activision will start the music-based video game insanity on September 1 with Guitar Hero 5, continue forward with DJ Hero, and now, it has been revealed they will cap off the holiday season with Guitar Hero: Van Halen.
As reported by GameSpot, Activision has revealed that the next Guitar Hero spin-off will hit North American store shelves on December 22; it will be available for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, and PS2. We've already seen entire GH titles dedicated to other legendary rock bands, like Metallica and Aerosmith, so it stands to reason that Van Halen should be next on the list. For the record, the competition will soon be coming with The Beatles: Rock Band, in case you can't get enough of those plastic guitars. Guitar Hero: Van Halen will feature 25 tracks (plus 3 playable solos by shredding God Eddie Van Halen), plus 19 other bands, including Queens of the Stone Age, Queen, Weezer, The Offspring, Billy Idol, Judas Priest, The Clash, and more. Check out the previous link for the full track list - it's pretty damn bad-ass - and see if you'll be able to resist the rock goodness. However, we've just learned from Eurogamer that Van Halen won't hit European stores until next year; the game has a "TBD 2010" launch date.
So anyway, are you prepared to go for both Guitar Hero 5 and Guitar Hero: Van Halen this Christmas season? Here's an idea: buy one; put the other on the holiday wish list.

B. For a full priced game, even if I was interested they scimp you on the songs. For $60, I minus well just buy like 5 or 6 Van Halen albums
C. With all the installments of GH and RB and the money people have invested over the years, if you don't already have one you're better off just buying a real guitar and actually learning the songs yourself...

These Xbox users are just mad because they can't play Killzone 2, LBP, Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction, Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time, Infamous, Final Fantasy XIII, Gran Turismo 5, Heavy Rain, MGS4, Resistance 2, and MAG.
Then plasma_cake responds
First of all FF XIII is on the 360, secound we will have Metal Gear Solid: Rising which will probably be better then MGS4. The only games I really want to play on that list is Killzone 2, LBP, MAG, Resistance 2 and Infamous and xbox 360 has just as good games, maybe even better.
then this guy TheCount24 replys
Are you crazy...First of all FF13 is coming to xbox and so is Metal Gear Solid. SEcond of all, Xbox is outselling PS3 at least 2 to 1. Third of all, We have Halo and Gears of War, which outsells any game on the PS3, plus is much better then any game on the PS3....Why do you think the PS3 is dying and will be dead within the next few years...That's why companies like Activision are threatening to stop making games for PS3 because it is not selling enough hardware or software. Get your facts straight. It will be Microsoft, Nintendo and maybe Apple might come into play in the next generations. SONY WILL THANK GOD BE DEAD.
This is an epic fail on plasma's and The Count's behalf, MGS:Rising be better then MGS 4, keep dreaming pal, MGS being on Xbox makes me sick, they dont deserve it. Weve got FF14, we have alot more quality games, Apple?, Really? PS3 not selling enough hardware, last time I checked, PS is outselling X-Box, these people fail in epic fashion. I just thought this stupid and idiotic fanboy nonsense should be brought to attention, so people could see why PSX is better and fanboy free since 1999.

I have a real guitar. I still play Rock Band because anyone can pick up and play it, I epicly fail at playing my actual guitar.
and before you go and say "you just need to put time into it" I'd rather not, since the rest of my time is spent on my actual lifes work. I play games like Rock Band purely for fun.
but on to the topic at hand. I don't plan on picking up any Band specific game. It seems like a waste compaired to the main games, wich let you play a huge variety of songs via DLC.

that would be rediculous.
how about this then.
Tell all FPS players to go play paintball (there thats nicer I guess)
Tell all Music gamers to go play real instruments
Tell all Skateboard gamers to go buy a real skateboard.
Tell all Racing game fans to go race a real car.
Tell all Sports game fans to go play the real sport
all those are equally stupid statements. We play these games to enjoy them, experience something we love without any of the reprocussions, be it losing time, losing health, losing life.
with games like Rock Band and Guitar Hero its definately not as severe, but we'd still lose alot of valuable time learning real songs. And even then we won't ever get to play along with the sound we're accustomed to. Unless we actually become rockstars, wich most of us can't afford, we'll never be as good as those classic bands that we can just pick up and play with in these games.

would go up to activision and ask them how it feels to be the most hated company in the industry.
i would love to hear there response.
not that i think they care, all there worried about is keeping there million dollar mansions and trophy model wife's.
im starting to think they feed off our hate, because the more pathetic they get the more we hate them so the worse they get.
i think everyones going to have to start loving them, to get them to change.
so whos first?
