Brutal Legend Sountrack: 100+ Songs

If you remember the good ol' days of Headbangers Ball on MTV (it's a tad different now on MTV2) and you've got the blood of a true metal aficionado running through your veins, you can't possibly pass up Tim Schafer and Double Fine's latest project, Brutal Legend.

It's going to feature voiceover work from many of the metal Gods you know and love but did you realize just how huge the in-game soundtrack will be? EA Denmark may have accidentally revealed the entire list; it has since been removed from their site, but Kotaku managed to snag a screen capture of the list. As it turns out, there are more than 100 songs in this bad-ass soundtrack, and that includes popular and even legendary artists like Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Manowar, Motley Crue, Ozzy Osbourne, Rob Zombie, Scorpions, Testament, and many, many more. If you're not yet familiar, Brutal Legend is the bizarre yet oddly amusing story of a roadie who traverses a surreal, metal-infused world where his handy-dandy guitar doubles as an axe. Heck, we've even seen video of him whipping out that unique instrument to rip off a quick solo, thereby summoning a dune buggy of sorts that lets him zip around the vast landscape. It's one of our most anticipated titles of the year, and that soundtrack - in our minds - is reason enough to give it a try.

Now, who wants that soundtrack available for purchase? Raise your hands! All metal-heads will consider it to be one hell of a must-have compilation; that's for damn sure.

I never paid this game any attention.
What type of game is this?
Action-adventure, or is it like GH and RB?

I know, I know, Google's my friend.

Um...this IS a game site, and we do have a preview for the game. Two, in fact; the last one is a hands-on when Arnold got a chance to play it last week.

I always thought GTAIV should have had at least a hundred songs. I hope people give Schafer his dues, even though I must past on this.

And John Shepard, you are letting your Ben show ;)

I've actually got a few of these songs loaded on my PS3 right now. LOL I could do without the mallcore though. I'm still curious about this game but if Jack Black's voice is in this, then I will probably not be getting this. The guy kills me with his obesity and annoyance level.

I wasn't too excited about this game before, but I might consider picking it up. So many good games coming out soon though... If Brutal Legend had been released about a month ago, I woulda bought it for sure.

I was surprised not to see Metallica as well, even though I'm not a fan of them I know some of my friends will be disappointed.

Not really a fan of any heavy metal music but still looking forward to the game :)

The same could be said about not having more Anthrax songs or anything by Brutality, Monstrosity, Razor, Master, Ophthlamia, etc. Where are those great metal bands? My point is, there are so many bands that could have easily been included in this collection that everyone would have complained about some great band that wasn't listed.

Hmmm, I just can't get over the fact that Jack Black did the voice acting for the protagonist. He is the biggest, dumbest, fattest, retard on the planet. Mr. Chris Farley wannabe. Maybe the game will rock, only time will tell.

Well it beats a GH tracklist but that's not saying much. I'd still be able to top it without even trying if they gave us custom soundtracks but there's even less chance for this game than most. Either way I'm getting this one, also psyched for arkym assylum.
I also loled at the inclusion of murmaider.
