MAG Beta Invites Going Out Now
It could redefine the nature of the online multiplayer experience; with up to 256 players on any given map at one time, the revolutionary concept of MAG has turned a lot of heads.
We knew Zipper Interactive would be conducting a beta test, and we had heard such a test might kick off as early as this month. Well, we just received an example of a beta invite, which asks you to log into the PlayStation Network with a special code, and explain why you should be a part of the beta phase. This does not guarantee you a spot, but at least it gives you the opportunity; we don't know how many Zipper plans to let in, but we're hoping it's many...many, many, many. The e-mail invite contains information about the game, the code you need, and the following statement:
"We are looking for a few good leaders to help us shape the most ambitious shooter ever. Click the link below, enter the access code and tell us why you deserve to be among them."
Now, while it may seem like a good idea, we suggest not writing an essay. We get the feeling that what you write may not matter as much as your prompt response; in other words, it's more about a first-come, first-served thing. Of course, we doubt you'll get picked if you say something ridiculous, but really, it should be enough that you show your immediate interest. We're hoping to be alongside the other beta testers when the test kicks off, but they don't provide us with a start date. We'll let you know when that information arrives...
