Bayonetta To Run At A Sleek 60FPS On Both PS3 And Xbox 360
Although it won't be available until 2010, it remains one of our most anticipated titles of the generation. With Devil May Cry designer Hideki Kamiya at the helm and Platinum Games keeping us updated on a continual basis, we're always salivating over Bayonetta. ...the game, not the chick. Really. Seriously.
Anyway, you may recall back in 2007, when Madden NFL 08 really ticked off PlayStation 3 owners: the game would run at 60 frames per second on the Xbox 360, but at a paltry 30fps on the PS3. Now, this wasn't entirely uncommon in the early days of the PS3, but as we've been saying all year, those days are long gone. And the good news concerning the ultra-fast-paced Bayonetta is that it will run at a silky smooth 60fps on both consoles in question. You can check out the video preview if you wish, and if you're not excited by the time it's over, you're no fan of action games. There's a trailer on the PSN and we also have a few videos over in our PS3 videos section, so feel free to brush up on your Bayonetta IQ. The heroine is a sultry, sexy version of Dante and as you'll see in most any video you watch, the attitude reminiscent of the critically acclaimed DMC franchise is always there. We just love the look and style of this one, and the gameplay appears to be fantastic. Did you see the boss fight in that video?!
And it'll certainly help that both PS3 and 360 owners will be getting mostly identical versions of the game. The only question left is, which controller do you prefer? Well, I for one...

Difference is, DMC is NOT a button masher as you get punished in your stats for doing so. You should see some higher level players on youtube who can finish the games on the hardest difficulty. Sure button mashing can get you through the game on Normal, but try Dante must Die and I assure you, you will get nowhere. Personally, I find mastering the techniques is far more satisfying than anything that can be done in other action games. But that's just my opinion, and I won't condemn you guys for having your own.
I trust this game will be a sleeper hit; it is in very capable hands.
