i didn't mean it like that.

even if this game is pathetic (which i doubt) it will still sell a few million just because of COD4. No, game of the year isn't decided by sales but it sure is a major part in it.

2008 game of the year was arguably GTA4 (or Fallout 3), just look at the sales of both of them.

2007 was probably COD4, and that was (i think) the best selling game of the year.

im going off GOTY game editions not game websites.
2006 oblivion did not deserve GOTY, rainbow six vegas made me crap my pants that should of got GOTY, the darkness there was heaps of better games, resistance FOM should of got GOTY.

but i bet you 50 bucks 99.99% of websites and magazines will give it to COD:MW2.

The 4'th one wsa okay but i don't play it anymore like most of my firends who have played over a month of it. Geez i need new psn friends because all they want to do is play CoD. Like i so sick of these games it ridiculous.

yeah, im the same. I can't stay on a game for too long, theres just a lot of great games out right now. I give credit to those guys who keep playing the same game for a while. Halo still have a lot of players and its been 2 years, i know people who play nothing but halo. I agree that its a good game, but to stick with it for 2 years is a bit much for me. As for me, I'll keep moving on to the next great game that interests me. Kinda makes you wonder if the 360 has games that can finally pull these guys away from halo 3, i mean games that doesnt have halo in the title. time to spend time on killzone 2, then uncharted 2, tekken 6, modern warfare 2, and hopefully MAG. I want to get other games too but this recession is a pain.

I don't care for Activision's ceo, but I did order the prestige edition. This is the only game from them that I will buy but only because of Infinity Ward. World at War didn't interest me.

I really liked the first MW but there are so many good games coming out this year, I think I will have to wait on this one. I am going to be to busy with Demon's Souls, Uncharted 2, and hopefully GT5.

I enjoyed the movie esque ending of the first game as well. I hope they add a little more to the storyline of the 2nd one.

Not my cup of tea at all, so no order from me. I won't be missing anything however, my PSP and PS3 'dance card' is very full this season already, what with Soul Calibur Broken Destiny, GT PSP, LBP PSP, and MotorStorm PSP, along with GT5, Uncharted 2, R&C, Tekken 6, NGS2 and the just purchased Madden 10 and Singstar Queen, and that's for starters, I know there are other games I haven't listed, and PSN titles I haven't even considered...yet.

I hate Activision but I do not hate Infinity Ward and to me, this is their game, not Activision's. Activision is just a name on the package. This is IW's baby and I can't wait to go apeshit on it!

Yeah, no surprise that the Xbox 360 owners are ordering up those two games at the top in big numbers. That's their bread-and-butter in regards to what they like to play. The list also proves my point that these people have no social life other than playing video games, going on XBL and trolling sites and providing grief for Ben and Arnold.

I see that the PS3 version of Arkham Asylum is ahead by 28,000. I guess the exclusive rights to play as The Joker has to do with that?

Again, if I buy the game, it's because I'm supporting Infinity Ward, not Activision. However, I'm not buying the game unless it's on sale, like it was in 2007 when it and Assassin's Creed, which I never played, went for $90 CAN in a bundle.

Actually I could care less about MW2, MW was over rated. Yeah I said it, because it was. A good game not great. I'm looking forward to Battlefield Bad Company 2, the only game in which you get to fly and chopper and use a MINIGUN. Used is a good idea, and Uncharted2 will be another top seller.

U2 is my pick 4 goty purely from a game design prospective and overall quality.i mean it's naughty dog and there among the best of the best at what they do.in my opinion the 1st uncharted was a very underated game.mw2 well be a great online experience,if they don't repackage mw's online with a couple of new perks and new maps.but it's single player has always to me been over rated.now cod2 campaign was awesome.@ xplicit,i agree that sales play a part in deciding goty,because theirs noway in hell mw should have won more goty awards when a game like bioshock was out in the same year.started to make me look @ goty awards like a popularity contest.the most original,most innovative,most well design game should always win.

I think there is more 360 orders for the game because they don't have any new games coming down the pipe (games not add-ons) so yeah they need something. I'll be sticking with the exclusives for now but I might get this for my brother the CoD nut for his birthday.

And thats supposed to surprise people. Ben already said that people who played cod4 were mostly on 360 because the ps3 was just starting out, its only reasonable that they will get it on 360 too. In addition, other than modern warfare 2, i dont see any other game that justifies the need to renew my xbox live subscription. Im not a halo junkie so ODST doesnt even show up on my radar. Anyway, for me, i'll only buy modern warfare 2 just to kill time until MAG is released.

Im supporting exclusives 1st then ill get this when they stop raping my wallet from their hideous launch price. We need 2 purchase our awesome exclusive line up as priority, or we'll lose them, however, i think Sonys marketing team will lose them unless they get sacked

Wow I have some mixed feelings about this list. I'm not surprised to see COD and Halo high up on the lists, but Uncharted 2 at 18 (behind Marvel Ultimate Alliance, Assassins creed, and Tekken) is sad. :(

Nice to see Dissidia at 5 and Demon's souls up there at number 21 though. :)
