GamesCom 2009: Heavy Rain's Stunning New Trailer

Before Sony set off the fireworks with their announcement of the PS3 Slim and corresponding price drop, Quantic Dream turned plenty of heads by showing off their new Heavy Rain trailer, "For Love."

Sadly, we couldn't see the video as it was happening - no live feeds for this event - but it didn't take too long for it to pop up on the Internet. It gives us a new insight into the world of Heavy Rain, and we once again have a new look at a character that hasn't really been in the forefront in previous media. We've seen the shapely girl with those lovely eyes, known as Shelby, and the detective who has to deal with a large, pissed-off dude, who you saw in a pair of recent gameplay vids. You can watch Part I and Part II right here and when you're done, just go ahead and click play below.

We have to say, this is one game that is going to get a ton of attention. It could be revolutionary and innovative in a variety of different ways, and in all honesty, it might just give the might storytelling master, Hideo Kojima, a run for his artistic money. Oh yeah...we said it.

The scary thing is that... It's up to you to make it work for him!! This will be one of those games that I will be mortified to have my character die. It's going to be quite a different experience.

It'll be the emotional thriller of this generation

Funny, I would've liked that to have been an rpg. But companies don't make rpgs anymore :(

But hey, this game deserves so much love, it'll be one of those games you'll remember for years. Well my prediction anyway.

So the main character of that trailer is giving me a Cillian Murphy / Daniel Craig vibe. I like both those actors so it's a plus. Oh man... Heavy Rain and Last Guardian... Looks like Ben got his wish with the more emotions in games... Take out the box of tissue and expect to cry like men boys!

That's gotta be one of the best trailers I've seen this year, together with the Last Guardian.. Just seen a bunch of trailers from GC'09.. I must say I was far more excited with the PS3 exclusives than any of the multiplat games...

Ahhh.. Feel's good to have a PS3..:D

I hate QTEs, I hate them in RE titles, I deal with them in GoW but I hate them, I suck at them and they bug me.
This game looks to be an endless series of QTEs so I will likely pass.

This game will rock hopefully it will not be overlooked like Indigo Prophecy was. Quantic Dream is a truly talented team at Artwork,storytelling, and game mechanics.

There is more to this one that meets the eye, Heavy Rain will transcend the entire action/thriller genre. There will be no other game like it, I have been looking forward to a game that will grab a person emotionally and evoke so many different feelings. The last game to actually grab me emotionally was Silent Hill 2, just an amazing game.

I wanted Prince of Persia to because it was my GOTY last year but it failed to. I hoping this will be the stunning title that paves the way for more interactive heavy story based action titles. I have no worries it be received well, of course for the occasional complaint which is to be expected. Come on 2010!

this game seems very interesting i thought indigo was cool til it fell apart at the end... but was a lot of fun

and would it be such a bad thing if it did give Hideo a run for his money? he just might come back with something better ;)
