God Of War Pack Crashes This Year's Holiday Party?
We all know that God of War III won't be ready to go until March of next year, so we've kinda put it on the back burner and turned our attention to the fourth-quarter gems of 2009.
However, it appears that Sony may be preparing a little surprise for all PlayStation 3 owners out there, especially those who were disappointed that GoWIII didn't make it this year. A reader has turned us onto MarkPlayStation's Twitter page; this guy is supposedly a manager for Sony Mexico. And if the translation is correct, there's a very special package heading our way in December: this package will consist of both God of War and God of War II, plus a playable demo of God of War III. Yes, it's a Blu-Ray disc for the PS3 and it's very big news if true. The only bizarre part about this is that Sony hasn't announced it yet, and as this franchise has always been more popular in the eyes of Western gamers, it seems strange that Sony would announce this at the Tokyo Game Show next month. Maybe they don't consider it big enough for a show unveiling; maybe we'll just suddenly see the press release in our inboxes. Who knows?
But we do remember a survey earlier this year that asked gamers what they thought about revamped GoW titles...if we remember correctly. It's no surprise that fans of the series would love to be able to replay the first two stellar installments on the PS3, and that GoWIII demo is even further incentive. We'll see what we can dig up but in the meantime, keep your eyes and ears peeled...

1. All PS3s get PS2 backwards compatibility
OR
2. The games are ports
One thing is for sure though. Being released on bluray for would mean this is not just some re-release. THIS ONE WOULD HAVE TROPHIES!!

dont get me wrong, PS2 games all look like they should, well mostly. But if you have ever seen Tenchu: Wrath of God on a PS3 then you know what im talking about when i say looking good!
personally I think both games will get a bit of spit and polish when released on that brd.

i hope its true i still have not been able to play god of war, and after my R&C3 experience im not all that confident to do so.
i wish sony would do more out of the ordinary things, like instead of announcing something than release it later on why not announce it and release it weeks later?
like instead of announcing GT5(update, release date) at TGS why not announce it and RELEASE IT!
imagine what that would do, it would set the internet on fire and every EB store would have a line out the door.
sony has pushed back so many games this year, i feel they have to bring something from the past to life and release it late this year.
only 2 games i can think of is LA Noire (i really want that game more than Uncharted 2)
or GT5.
i dont understand WTF is going on with LA Noire it was suppose to be out this october according to the latest article from IGN which was september 08.
according to that article the game had 1 year dev time left and was ready for a late october release, well 1 and a bit months before said release and we have no info on the game.
no gameplay trailers.
no live demos.
hell i dont even know who the main character is.
how can a game be due for release in less than 6 weeks and have such little info.
it cant, same thing happened to max payne 3 i said it wont be out this year, everyone called me a idiot.
and guess what happened.

But that was probably the reason the story was leaked so soon. If you want something to be ready at announcement, you have to start making all the stuff months in advance, greatly increasing the chances of the story getting leaked.

Dont get me wrong, I would love for everyone to get full B/C, GOW 1&2 in HD, and with trophies, but I dont see any chance of that happening.
