If We Ever Get A FFXIII Demo, It'll Be New And Downloadable

Role-playing fans aren't so annoyed that Final Fantasy XIII will take longer to hit North America; the lengthy localization process isn't anything new. But in this new era where everyone is demo-hungry, we've all been hoping to see a playable demo in the States...

As of now, the only way to play the lone available demo is to get your hands on the Japanese release of "Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children" on Blu-Ray. The American release didn't come with the hour-long playable demo and ever since that time, loyal FF followers in this country have been asking, "when do we get a shot at it?" Well, Square-Enix remains undecided on whether or not to give us a demo, but we do know two things, as noted by Joystiq: firstly, if it does come, it won't be in disc form; it'll be downloadable, like so many other demos this generation. Of course, it would likely be a big download, but that's okay...we're patient. Secondly, it wouldn't be a localized version of the demo in "Advent Children;" it'd be entirely new. Okay, so now all we have to hope for is a new demo to hit the Network, and we'll be happy. We've been wanting to get our hands on this ever since we saw the first gameplay video, and let's not forget that the game has come a long ways over the past year or so.

We'll certainly let you know if Square-Enix finally caves under the pressure and gives us that demo. When it does, we can pretty much guarantee we'll be one of the first to nab it.

I'm pretty sure we'll see a demo now, that wasn't a "No way" response SE gave. No reason not to, all it can equal to is better sales from any of the sceptics. You know that demo will be number 1 for awhile.

They're wasting their time with demos. You want to give us a demo? Give us FFXIII with a demo of Versus.

That's an excellent idea Alienange, though I'd still want the FFXIII demo.

If there is a FFXIII demo, it will probably be 3GB of data hehe...I'm more excited for Versus and Agito anyway.

I hope they would give us a demo but im not counting on it. When was the last time Square-Enix talked about versus? Hopefully they give us more info soon about that.

I don't think I would play it, I would be very tempted to but I want that sucker fresh, no demo spoiler whatsoever.

That's a great point, and I would love to do the same, but there is no way in hell I would be able to resist

Well either way I'm content, I already have the demo from FF7:ACC so yeah, it was great. Love to see how it is now though and with localization.

it really pisses me off when companys do this.
making us wait a extra 4 months is not enough?
why should i suffer just because of where i live, hows that fair.
not that i was planing on buying it, borderlands and alpha protocol is more than enough RPGs to late me a year.

I would love a demo, i dont think it would spoil an it anything, i remember the FFX demo island, after playing it i was mega-hyped for it. Also if they do, they said it would be a new/updated demo, that alone sounds interesting enough.

It made me angry when they released advent children with the demo, it was just a scam to make people buy the movie since it wasnt ever gonna sell well, complete bullsh!t..

Demos are free and thats the way it should always be.

Demo? Don't need a demo. Just give us the game. We all know we're going to buy the game with or with out one anyway. ;)

My husband says he really doesn't want the demo just release the game already it's been forever, I told him that Demons Souls will keep him busy till this game comes out and GOW 3 will be another to keep him busy as well.

Isn't it better for them to put effort on the game itself instead of a localized demo? I would rather see the game earlier than getting a spoiling demo.

Advent Children is a must buy, even if you don't care about blue ray movies. I still have over 20 rpgs that I need to finish, so I don't care how long it takes for the game to be release. I
