Platinum Hits Trio Features Three Of The PS3's Best
We all know about the many, many great games on tap for the fourth quarter this year, and most of us simply don't have the time or money to play 'em all. And if money is your primary obstacle and you've missed out in the past, maybe now's the time to turn your attention to those attractively priced Platinum Hits.
There are already several great titles in the lineup and for only half the original price, they're always great deals. And now, according to European site PSFocus, three of the PlayStation 3's best titles to date will be inducted into the illustrious Platinum ranks early next month: Killzone 2, MotorStorm: Pacific Rift, and Resistance 2. Now, it's only a Euro site and we don't have any official announcement from either SCEA or SCEE, but the only question we have concerns the date, which is September 2. On that day, you should be able to buy these three games for only $30 each. However, while we're absolutely certain all three have sold enough copies to qualify for the Platinum label, we can't say the second of September is 100% accurate without a press release. If it is accurate, that's great, because it means these three insta-classics will be available as Platinum Hits at the exact same time the PS3 Slim hits store shelves. Think about it: buy the new, cheaper PS3 for $299 and maybe two of those three titles for the price of one new game.
Yep, sounds like a great deal to us. We imagine other titles might soon be added to the Platinum lineup in the near future, too, so if you still need to play some catch-up, pay close attention...

As for R2, in the long run, I found the single player campaign more entertaining and compelling than KZ2, though the online wasn't as engaging as KZ2. To each their own.

Now a little off topic, and I don't know if you consider it news or not, but Ben did you see the patch that is suppose to be coming for SOCOM: Confrontation tomorrow morning?
It looks like Slant 6 is finally making the game the way it should have been when it released last October. (and new DLC coming shortly after)
Like I said I don't know if you consider it newsworthy or not, but check out socom. com if you want the full list of details of what's coming.

As for MS2. That was definitely better than the first one just really hoped they'd let you customize the paint to your cars by yourself and not just give you a hand full of presets. But it's also a game I play from time to time and not constantly like others.
For me personally KZ2 was still the best FPS I ever played and the one I enjoyed the most next to COD:MW.... But after KZ I look at FPS differently I must say... Still looking forward to Modern Warfare 2 thou.
I'm just surprised that they will be putting it out on Platinum so soon. I know it sold a boat load of copies just didn't think they'd make it Platinum in the same year as they released it...
I decided to pick up a PS3 Slim once it gets released here and then I will keep my original 60GB Model in a safe place as my backup machine.

well i picked it up ages ago as a platinum title, 3rd time i picked up the game, and this time it only cost me 30 AUD instead of the normal 50.
i only wish unreal tornament 3 and gears 2 would go down in price.
UT3 has been out for 1.5 years and its STILL its release price.
gears 2 was out late november and its STILL its release price.
i wish epic would stop ripping us off and drop the %$^$ing prices, this is why i still and will not buy shadow complex.
if KZ2 can drop price by 60 bucks in 6 months WTF is epics excuse with UT3 and gears 2?

Fall of Man for so many reasons, but mainly because I liked how the whole game looked. Resistance 2 had too much color, but i guess I can blame that on the game engine since it's the same engine Insomaniac uses for Ratchet and Clank.
