GT5 Will "Very Probably" Have A Worldwide Simultaneous Launch
Although we got the mot important news of the year at GamesCom 2009 - the PlayStation 3 price drop - we had also expected to hear that Gran Turismo 5 would launch in 2009.
Well, that didn't happen, and now we turn our anticipatory attention to the Tokyo Game Show, which kicks off towards the end of September. Everyone keeps asking series creator Kazunori Yamauchi about the impending release and the most recent evidence comes from a Japanese Multiplayer interview (as posted at GTPlanet). In response to the question he must've heard about a million times in the past few months, Yamauchi replied:
"The game is still under development but its release is not too far, it will be after the PSP GT release and, very probably, it will be a simultaneous world release."
Yamauchi goes on to confirm the numbers on the official site - 1000+ cars, 80+ tracks - and also talks about the new damage modeling mechanic, which "some players will like, others will not." It seems there really will be full NASCAR and WRC races in the game, too; we won't just have the vehicles from those special leagues, as some naysayers may have expected. Lastly, Yamauchi once again says we can expect a silky smooth 60 frames per second in beautiful 1080p high definition, which we already knew about...heck, it's what gets us drooling. But this release info is promising; Gran Turismo PSP is slated to launch alongside the PSP Go on October 1, which means we should see GT5 any time after that.
How's about an early December release? Sound good?

KY: ”The damages are not only visible, they will affect the driving style.
It depends on the player, some players will like it, others will not”
So it sounds like it's an all or nothing thing. Either you enable damage and deal with the consequences to the car's performance, or you don't use damage and deal with having no damage.

I mean, '3' sold over half a million in Japan alone (first week sales) when there were only about 5 million PS2s in said country. So, taking that into account, then factoring in modern conditions and adding what will obviously be big numbers from America and Europe...yeah, I repeat, it's definitely going to be huge.

"The singleplayer structure will also drastically change, just like in the PSP version. He also added that the damage model will do more than just crack the surface of your car. The driving behaviour will suffer from your crashes. Last up he also said the game will run at a constant 60FPS in 1080p."
If anyone can understand the video interview, feel free to add more detail...but there you go folks, probably the first serious word that the damage model will impact driving that I've seen anywhere.

example batman AA has been at EB for the last 3 weeks but they cant release it till thursday.
all games should have a worldwide release date, if its ready to release in europe it should be ready to release here to since its using the EXACT same game same language same TV mode PAL.
they dont have to change anything so why am i waiting weeks longer than europe?
batman AA for example was released in europe on what the 27th of august?
why do we have to wait till the 3rd, last time i checked it does not take 7 days to ship several thousand copies from europe to here.
i ship stuff to the US and Europe UK normally and its there in 3-5 days.
i could of bought it from the US and finished it by now, and i would of saved me some money to.
same with the PS3 slim, its date was broken in the US and in europe, it was not suppose to come out till september 1st but it came out early.
it broke its date in europe and the US so why not here?
street dates only apply here?

I guess that confirms that the damage is just cosmetic. Oh dear.
