LEGO Rock Band Tracks Exportable To Rock Band 2
You needed an excuse to grab LEGO Rock Band, didn't you? Even the most die-hard Rock Band aficionados might feel a bit leery about picking up a LEGO-fied version of their favorite music-based title.
Well, if you are a fan, you are already aware of how you can nab tracks from the original Rock Band and play them in Rock Band 2. Sure, it requires a small fee - $5 - but did you realize you'll be able to do the same thing with LEGO Rock Band? According to Wired's GameLife blog, a "highly-placed source close to Harmonix" has confirmed that exporting LEGO songs onto your hard drive for play in other RB titles will be doable, and be accompanied by a "small fee." That fee will probably be five bucks again and furthermore, if you check that link, there's a rumored list of the upcoming DLC. There are 10 tracks from legendary band Queen and 3 from The Raconteurs; all of which should be available in October. Then there are 3 more songs by The White Stripes coming in November, so there's no doubt that franchise followers will have plenty of tracks to practice and ultimately master. But if you thought you'd just back off on LEGO Rock Band 'cuz it ain't cool enough, just remember that you'll be missing out. Of course, if you don't intend to own either game in question, the exporting ability we speak of here is...well, irrelevant.
We do like the fact that there's so much cross-compatibility going on between installments within music-based franchises, though. These things aren't cheap; we should most certainly have such incentives.
