Arkham Asylum Tops UK Charts
It's easily one of the best games of the year and as usual, gamers are quick to reward developers who generate quality productions.
In the UK, Batman: Arkham Asylum was tops for last week, and perhaps the most important fact is that it even edged out the popular Wii Sports Resort, which says a great deal about Batman's entertainment factor. The list, which you can see over at IncGamers, shows the top 20 software sales for the week of 08/28, and you'll see it looks a bit different than North America's list. ...we probably wouldn't have Ashes Cricket 2009 at #3, but we're encouraged to see Wolfenstein in at #4, because that's a game we've been hoping would garner some attention. Remember when Raven Software said if it sold more copies than Madden NFL 10 in August, we'd all get a free copy of Wolfenstein...? Yeah, that won't happen, but it's still cool to see the shooter do well (I loved Return to Castle Wolfenstein). But the day belongs to Arkham Asylum, with it's super-fluid combat, excellent pacing, and superb presentation. If you haven't given it a try yet, you're missing out on the best game of August.
And yes, that's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare on the list at #10. If the original has this kind of staying power, we can only imagine how insane the sequel will be...

Those 7 thugs in the room with booby trapped gargoyles kept finding me after I killed 4-5 of them. they got me 5 times in a row last night...
I need to try another route through them, almost frustrating, but the game is too much good fun to really piss me off!

Trust me it is freaking awesome. I bought it Friday and have gotten 45% through (late nights all weekend and yesterday). I have loved every minute of it. It is hard enough to make you retry things but not to the point of throwing your controller (at least on Normal Difficulty). The AI is smart, and the fighting is so fluid. It is a awesome game all the way around.
True batman style. Yuou have sneaking up and slient takeouts, puzzle solving, wicked gadgets, XP level upgrading, and more. At least rent it for the weekend, you will not be disappointed.

Enjoyed the large Scarecrow part. Reminded me a lot like God Of War in parts. Can see the ideas of some other games in there.
@LV the forums may not be to your taste. I find there is some decent conversations back there with a lot of the regulars from this site including Dillon and World plus loads of others. Dont knock the forum till you have tried it peeps. It's great fun honest. Plus Ben and Arnold speak to you there like they do here too so you feel very welcome. :)

Gotta respectfully disagree with LV, I'm new here and find the forums very informative. So far get the vibe of a nice close knit community of gamers as I always see the same names posting. Very enjoyable!
