PS3 Slim Bundles Revealed For 2009, Gran Turismo 5 Included!

The PS3 Slim has turned many heads but if you're still not convinced, you might want to wait until the various bundle deals drop for the holidays.

It's a given that a few are definitely on the way, but it seems European site Play3-Live has revealed all the Slim packages that are scheduled for the remainder of 2009. We can't say this is 100% concrete - we never say that until Sony has made the official announcement - but we certainly like what we see. There will be PS3 Slim bundles that include Need for Speed: Shift, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, Assassin's Creed II, Tekken 6, Pro Evolution Soccer 2010, and...yep, Gran Turismo 5, sitting right there with a December 4 release date. Now, even if these are accurate, all these bundles may not see the light of day here in North America; we'd be surprised if that PES 2010 package launches in the US, for example. But for something like GT5, one would have to assume that bundle will be on store shelves in all three major regions around the world. You will also notice the shipping unit amount for each bundle; the GT5 package has the biggest number, with 75,000. That should be an initial number; hopefully, we're not talking about the only packages that will ever be made. Don't want to make 'em too "Limited."

But above all else, this is just more evidence that GT5 will indeed release this year. We've had plenty of info on this matter so far, and this is just another indication that one of the most anticipated titles of the generation is imminent!

Man, Sony is like a steam-train at the moment. The competition will be left obliterated with the GT5 bundle, FANTASTIC!

It is unlikely the PES bundle will be released in the US, yet it will sell like hot-cakes here in the UK.

Its funny how sites like this one "that I love btw", Have a bad effect towards sony. Sony does not want you to wait to buy a ps3 and thats what happends when news like this gets out. I think its great for the readers who get there info like me, But it sucks for sony everytime sites talked about price coming soon, coming soon, coming soon, It hurts Sony. There is a reason they hold things back. PS I love both my ps3's and I feel that they will be doing a great job with an amazing line up and great hardware to boot. Enjoy your ps3 fat and slim people the best is yet to come.

In such a case I don't think Sony is any worse off than any other company regarding rumors and whatnot. Remember the bulk of the public doesn't even research what is coming up before making a purchase, they care about right now.

I am considering buying a ps3 slim, mostly becuase my "phat" ps3 gets to hot, and I am also considering getting Gran Turismo 5.(if the Charger SRT 8 is in it)
So if everything falls into place correctly(SRT8 in GT5) the GT5 bundle is a day 1 purchase for me.

The slim generates quiet a bit of heat in the rear but the console itself doesn't get hot. My fatty on the other hand is WARM.

In the future Fallout3 is banned due to not being a true RPG, true FPS, or a true Fallout game. Everyone seems VERY happy about the decision.

Yeah, new chargers are ugly, I like the challenger much better. Of course, neither can match the pure muscle and beauty of the Shelby GT500 Mustang. New with 540hp for 2010!

With all the excitement and anticipation of Gran Turismo 5 being released, I don't think the Need For Speed: Shift bundle will look as appealing next to a GT5 bundle. That's another bundle I find questionable.

NFS Shift doesn't stand any chance. That game is so FAKE- I saw a video of NFS Shift that showed a BMW 3 Series racing against a Ferrari F430! GIVE ME A BREAK.

The demo sold like 4 million itself. Most of the existing PS3 owners bought that GT5P bundle before. This GT5, I can't imagine the staying power. It is one of the games that I will not wait for a price drop. First day purchase for me.

Dan was joking, again, and it was missed. I am a fan of the GT series and it's great sequels. Sequels worry me because the developers can either use the same formula that made the original a hit or they try to make a game with lots of different elements and completely miss the mark. If they make it too much like the original with not enough new things, they get chastized. If they make the game with lots of new elements that people don't like because the game strayed from the original, they get chastized.

I new they'd do a GT5 bundle. I wonder why Sony chooses to focus on Japan and Europe with cool bundles. Has the US got any other bundles besides Uncharted? That FFVII Advent Children PS3 kicked ass and I think Europe got a Killzone 2 and inFAMOUS bundle no?

I think I will get my Slim with the Uncharted Bundle and then wait and see if the have a collectors edition GT5 and get that... either way I will get GT5 on the day it releases here.... hopefully it will also be in this year still....

I want the first bundle that is released that isn't NFS: Shift. That game is going to suck because they took out the cops. That is what makes the game so fun. The rest of the bundles are going to be worth it though. EA made a big mistake by taking out the cops and robbers fun. Maybe there going to make a new cops and robbers game...I hope so otherwise I will never buy there racing games again!

Which is exactly the reason I gave last week. The Hypervisor costs money, so it was removed since about 1 tenth of a percent of all PS3 owners ever used it.

Of course, it also makes it harder to boot up the system to play an ISO image from the hard disc, if you can't load another OS. That should stop any other shenanigans that people trying to pirate games might partake in as well.

Just like making the battery in the PSP Go a non-removable one potentially ends the piracy problem there. Because, without the ability to use Pandora's battery to force a PSP into service mode, there is no way to get CFW on the PSP Go. No CFW means no game copying.

Anything that stops piracy helps everyone else in the long run because it protects the investment of Sony and the game developers, and in the end that means more games for gamers.

They should concentrate on getting this game released, then worry about enticing people with bundles. Does anybody give a sh*t anymore about the people who have dropped the cash on the system already.

I have a psp, but I refuse to buy the psp version first. It will be an afterthought to me, the one I've been waiting on keeps getting held up by silly marketing crap.

nice to see europe getting more.
although with these bundles, they should have two games instead of just one, but then again what'll probably happen is you buy a said bundle; lets say the slim+GT5, and the store where you buy it bundle in another game. i saw tonnes of that with the likes of GT5P and GTA4 bundles.
also, two controllers, not just one.
