"Reliable Source" Confirms GT5 For September 25 In UK?

This is starting to become as big as the PS3 Slim and price drop rumor was; we just want it to go away and have the official announcement. But hey, when more evidence pops up, we know the fans crave it. The dudes abide.

You've heard about the distinct possibility of seeing Gran Turismo 5 before we wave goodbye to 2009. The latest update comes from a European source that says a GT5 PS3 Slim bundle is slated to release on December 4, which would fit into previous semi-reliable rumors that say this top-notch racer will release in time for the holiday rush. But now, PSBeyond supposedly has a new piece of inside information and if it's accurate, it's going to come as a very big surprise: the "extremely reliable source" in question apparently confirmed that GT5 will actually launch on September 25 in the UK. It seems to be way too close in our eyes but it does coincide beautifully with the Tokyo Game Show. Furthermore, it usually takes some time before they offer a bundle package with a game; to release the game by itself towards the end of this month and then the bundle package in the first week of December would make sense. Oh, and let's not forget that Polyphony has talked about the connections between GT PSP and GT5; the former launches on October 1 alongside the new PSP Go. So they might want both games available ASAP.

What say you? Might we get a chance to play one of the generation's most anticipated titles in only a few weeks time? Or are you still sticking with the December theory?

It is a 100% fake news! The bundle they are showing has the old PS3 model. Why would SONY release Uncharted/Ratchet/GT5 so damn close? And why would Sony launch a massive title with no publicity? No hype? This is soooooo fake!

Zee, The Slim was released amidst rumors, it had no ads or hype yet sales of it was through the roof!
I believe GT5 isn't a game that really needs hype or ads, it still gonna sell if its released even tomorrow!

Highly unlikely that it would release on the 25th of september. Its way too soon. Besides if its indeed releasing on the 25th of September, we would have known it bout few weeks or months ago, knowing Sony's ability to keep their secrets :P. haha. Anyway, yea it would be a big surprise if its indeed on the 25th of september because all of the hype and spotlight are currently on GT PSP which is slated to release on October 1.
It would be a bad idea to release GT5 before the GT PSP because then people would not purchase the GT PSP. Why buy the PSP version when you can actually get the far superior game on the PS3?

lmao @ "the dudes abide". i just watched the big lebowski like 2 days ago. i love that movie. and a sept launch isnt too far fetched they did say they could "release gt5 whenever they want"

I think its reasonable. Gran Turismo has been more popular in the UK. It makes sense that they want it to be as close to the PSP Go/PS3 Slim release as possible.
GT5 is a title that will sell regardless of anytime of the year. Releasing it in September will give the Slim an even greater boost. Let's hope Sony has enough PS3 manufactured.

This makes me think. Did Sony really plan all this from the beginning when PS3 wasn't selling so well? The advertisement, the AAA releases, the price cut/Slim. Cause it seem like its working.

yeah, if they said october or november then i might believe it, but september? definitely not. Its kindda a bad idea to surprise gamers like this in my opinion, especially since a lot of other games are coming out. we need time to save up. that would be sweet though, Gran turismo on september then a few weeks later uncharted 2.

Hmmm...Sep 25...in UK huh? Ok...I guess it's reasonable. I was thinking it would be a bit more close to the holiday...like around early Decemberish...but ok I guess. I mean I think that would be great timing in terms of Holiday season and stuff and what makes the perfect gift.

I'm sure everyone here wants it asap...like that one guy who always gets a reply on here saying: "Just give him GT5 already ladies and gentlemen..."

I'm a very GT5 loving optimist but it releasing before Forza 3 is just a crazy idea. Something's got to give..

And during TGS too? I'm expecting TGS to give us more gameplay info and "a" release date lol.

BTW can anyone find out if the reliable source is a guy with an alias of "Amar"? Because GTPlanet has got given a lot of leaked info from him which actually became true.
This way I might believe it a little more ;)

They probably confused the date with the Tokyo Game Show

It's probably that the GT5 release date will be confirmed at the TGS and they thought that date was the release date for the game

Unless they're gonna release a semi-finished title followed by several VERY LARGE online updates over the next several months, this just doesn't sound right. I'm sure a lot of reviews would totally slam it if that were the case.

Sorry, not buying into this one. Not for a minute. I mean it would be great if it happened, but it would also be great if they remade FFVII. And, speaking of reliable sources didn't the game designer specifically say that GT5 would be out after GT for the PSP? Anyway, if it happens it happens and we shall all rejoice, jsut don't get let down when this turns out to be bogus.

september 25 is impossible.
in a interview a few weeks ago PD said that GT5 will be out shortly after GT PSP.
last time i checked GT PSP is coming out october 1.
last time i checked september 25 is before october 1 not shortly after.
ive always wanted sony to announce something and release it on the same day, but if GT5 is out on september 25 i will eat my left nut.
it just aint gonna happen.

well prologue was released first in the uk, makes sense they would release it here first again, they did say they could release it any time they want, it will probs release 1st here, and in the 1st 6 week have alot of patches to fix things, in time for the american launch, a lil like a soft opening lol. tho the great thing about ps3, no regional codes so ebay is always an impotion for those wanting to import

SPONG asked SCEE directly and were told "There's no validity to that story. We haven't announced a release date for GT5 at this time."

I have never heard of that gaming site before but it looks legit and I can't see them having any reason to mislead GT fans by lying about the incorrect release date.

I think those who said that the release date will be announced at the TGS are on the right track.

Who says its rushed? PD has been working on this game for 5 years now...and if it were to release 2 and a half months before the other projected release date (early December), doesn't mean it has been rushed.

What if the game IS actually complete? If it's complete, then hell, give it to me next week. But if it's actually not complete, then yes, I agree with you and would wait til December or however long.

But honestly, we don't know much of anything about GT5. No confirmed release dates from Sony, not many actual game details (but a lot of speculation), etc.

Now what do I actually think will happen? Well I've been expecting a full reveal and release date reveal of the game at TGS with a December release. I hope I'm wrong in the sense that we would get the game the week of TGS, and how awesome it would be....but I'm also thinking December as well.

A reliable source (actually its Kaz himself...) told us multiple times that GT5 will release shortly AFTER GTPSP. How can this be true?

Also anyone here remember that Kaz also said that its more likely that GT5 will be released simultaneously worldwide?

This rumor is just wrong in so many ways.
