PSN Users Complain Of Not Receiving Community E-Mails

The PlayStation Network is typically reliable and solid, but there appears to be an ongoing issue that continues to plague a great many users.

A growing thread over at the official PlayStation forums is dedicated to users who no longer receive e-mails from the PSN (besides Store purchase confirmation messages). Everyone should get update e-mails on a consistent basis but it appears that many people - including GAP members - haven't seen any such e-mails in quite a long time. The frustrated users have already approached Jeff Rubenstein at the PlayStation Blog; he said he'd pass the word along. For our part, we'd be interested to see how many other PSN users have this problem; if you do, feel free to add your voice to the crowd. That list in the forums continues to grow with every passing day and we're hoping Sony addresses this issue before too long. They're already looking into a few of the problems caused by firmware update 3.00 so perhaps those tech guys can just add this to their to-do list. Oh, and unsubscribing and signing up again doesn't seem to be a fix-it solution for most people.

So we'll see what transpires in the near future. If you're having the problem described here, speak up.

I have been a G.A.P. member for almost 2 yrs, i have had to change my email address several times, now they dont even send me any emails whatsoever to my new email address, so i miss out on all the betas, etc, would b nice for Sony to address this issue,,,

I get mine regularly as well. I think it has to do with a setting in your profile. You need to check these two checkboxes that have something to do with notifications and/or send special offers, etc.

I checked mine, cuz someone told me that you need to have these checked, if you want to be offered early BETA tests for games.

Hmmm that's funny I didn't even realize I was supposed to receive e-mails from psn I've only gotten purchase confirmations if this is a problem then im one of the people with it.

Yeah it's one of those problems that you don't know you have untill someone asks you. The last email I got was either about the R2 privte beta or the HOME beta. Over a year either way.

I dont get emails from them..... but in my eye thats good one less company spamming my email. i have like 625 unread emails all from bussiness like ebay, amazon.... it annoys me.

I seem to be getting my emails fine. Downloading movies and games I'm having a problem with. I rented to movies Sunday and Sony couldn't figure out why I'm unable to download them. They had to refund my money. Kinda sucks cause if this happens again they won't refund next time.

Everything is fine on my end too. I get em like1 a week for the weekly store update, my purchases, PS Blog. Funny thing is I just got one on 9/2 titled "A simple thank you to one of our favorite customer", Thanks for supporting the PlayStation Network.

I definitely don't get one every week. Maybe every month or two. Odd. Most people here sound like their mailboxes are blowing up with stuff. I get most of my news from other sites, but hope I don't miss out on betas for it.

WEll i get one. Maybe not once a week but maybe every 2 weeks or so. Actually i don't know, yeah maybe once a week. To tell you the truth i'm just been coasting these last few weeks so i am kind of out of it.

I have received one yes, one email from SCEA. Not for a purchase just some random update. I thought it was normal to only get that. I have also never seen an email about a beta and I have signed up for them before but I just blame that on crap luck. Should I head over there and throw my name in the hat or are there enough people yelling about it for something to get done?

Not sure when I last got one as they tend to sit in my inbox for days lol. I come here for any PS3 news so that could be why they get left.
