EyePet Comes To Life On November 17
Pets are nice but they can be so time-consuming. Heck, some days you feel as if you spend all your free time cleaning.
See, that's why you need a virtual EyePet. As announced at the PlayStation Blog, this nifty little piece of technology will be on store shelves on November 17 for the price of $39.99. If you want that innovative PlayStation Eye, too, both items will come bundled together for only $59.99, and you have to admit, that's a pretty good deal. The EyePet is a cute virtual little thing; he will respond realistically to movements in the real world; he'll laugh if you tickle him, and if you roll a ball in his direction, he'll chase it. You can even customize your new friend: you can "modify fur length, color and pattern, as well as the ability to outfit your pet with more than 250 unique collectible items." But it doesn't end there. This technological wonder will even let the user sketch things via the "Magic Card," and whatever you draw will become a toy for the EyePet. ...that's just funny as hell. Oh, there are a great many things you can do with that adorable furry creature on your screen; he's just irresistable!
We always look down the road for future improvements in the industry, but we should never forget that advancements are oftentimes right under our noses. Welcome the EyePet into your home this holiday season...don't worry; he won't mess up your decorations.

With head tracking and this, it is nice to see Sony is finally showing what the PSEye is truly capable of, especially in advance of Natal.
For the uninformed, Sony already has several games on PSN that allow you to use the PSEye to control the game with hand gestures. Natal anyone?

This will be a neat application though, not necessarily something I was expecting to be sold as a disc based games. I would have thought this would have been a PSN application instead.
Although I probably won't be buying it, I hope it does well so that Sony will keep supporting PSEye games, as opposed to dropping them like they did with Eye of Judgment.

I watched the videos. I'm thinking how is the PS3 supposed to recognize the plane parts you draw and connect them together into a jet. If you can draw anything and make it come to life, the developer must have integrated all the possible outcomes. There must be some limitations. For example, in Heavy Rain, the different routes and decisions you make changes the story, thus the developer must make an ending for each decision. This could be a headache for the developers and quite costly. I doubt EyePet is a game that has that much resources working on this game.

2 AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA games for a mediocre game which has no hope in hell to go down in the books of video game history.
everyone knows how popular gangster open world type of games are, sony had 2 of them EXCLUSIVE to their system and they tossed them out like rubbish.
to me what theve done is taken 2 suit cases filled with 50 million dollars each and burned them in favor of 1 case with 50 bucks in it.
also they have taken 2 game of the year awards and burned them in favor of well nothing.
8 days and the getaway 3 were looking like 2 of the best games i have ever seen, and looked like they could be braking records i cant see eye pet doing any of this.
ive always said sony are stupid but they dident have to prove it to me.

and its just silly ive watched all the videos and it looks boring you interact with a pet.
ive got 2 dogs a cat 4 birds a snake 2 lizards a frog 2 rabbits and 4 ginipigs.
if i wanted to interact with a pet i would go spend some time with those.
and the fact that it replaced 8 days and the getaway makes me hate it even more.
