Media Molecule Initially Concerned About LBP MGS4 Content

You know how the serious, "arty" types in any entertainment industry really aren't interested in lighthearted satire? Might you consider Hideo Kojima to be one of those guys?

Nah. We always find it interesting to learn more about how the masters think, and it's good to know this guy still has an excellent sense of humor, even when it comes to his own productions. You probably already know, but Media Molecule has provided LittleBigPlanet users with some MGS4 costumes and at first, they were a little worried they might offend Kojima. According to VG247, Media Molecule's Mark Healy noted the clash between LBP's simple, amusing humor and MGS4's serious, hardcore nature. Said Healy:

"We were slightly worried that our first attempts weren’t going to go down too well. We see Metal Gear Solid as quite serious, a hardcore, intense thing. Obviously, what we did was quite cute, almost satirical. But they loved it. They’ve got a great sense of humour and they really embraced it."

Fellow boss Kareem Ettouney echoed those positive sentiments by saying that they met Kojima and he said he was excited, and he really "liked the results." Media Molecule ended up getting a lot of support from the Metal Gear Solid team, and Ettouney said it "was a very smooth example of collaboration which celebrated the two brands and retained the identity of the two." It's good to see Kojima and Co. having fun with this; the dour, egocentric, "everyone-should-respect-my-work" dude we described in the intro clearly doesn't suit Kojima...which is a good thing. After all, we still call these things games.

Thats so good to hear that Kojima is such a good sport about stuff like that. That sets such a good example for everyone else because Kojima is a huge icon in the industry. It makes me proud to play video games when I hear things like this.

levels?

That's what millions of people out there are for.
These devs know the game inside and out, if they start making levels we'll never be satisfied with what normal gamers create

The game's for US to use and explore, MM's just there to help us out

I think they should create costumes for every PS3 exclusive, and you get them free when you buy/rent said game. LBP would help sell other games, and other games would help sell LBP.

The MGS4 content is some of the coolest DLC available for this game. It's nice to hear that Kojima was ok with this. I respect the man as a game designer and news like this only confirms that he deserves it.

Sony KNOWS this already

Anyone who's played Ape Escape 3 knows Hideo is awesome, and fun kinda guy

MGS3: Featured Ape Escape's monkeys (even had mini game thing)

Ape Escape 3: Had Mesal Gear Solid (yes "Mesal" lol) It was a MGS "game" based on a "monkey snake" :D it was really awesome too, really entertaining how they pulled it off

LBP did a great job, I'm glad to have bought the MGS pack.

Mery looks so cute in it <3
Aaaaah how I'd love for them to bring Sunny
