Sony Breaking Out The Big Guns For Tokyo Game Show
You didn't really think Sony would skip over the Tokyo Game Show this year after taking GamesCom by storm with the price drop and PS3 Slim announcements, did you?
Nah, TGS is always the biggest show of the year these days, and Sony has released their lineup: as you can see, it includes all sorts of big names, including God of War III, Gran Turismo 5, Assassin's Creed II, Final Fantasy XIII, Front Mission Evolved, Quantum Theory, Tekken 6, and Bayonetta. Heavy Rain is there, too, but it says "tentative" next to the title, so we're a little nervous...we're definitely hoping for a finalized release date for that one, even though we've heard it will be ready to go in January. God of War III should be there just to stun the crowd with its greatness, unless they're willing to solidify a specific March date, and perhaps all eyes will be on GT5 and FFXIII...we so want American launch dates for both! The PSP should also have a good show, what with Gran Turismo PSP, LittleBigPlanet PSP, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, MotorStorm: Arctic Edge, Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep, and the currently mysterious God Eater on tap. We don't see much of anything that's very intriguing under the New Games section, but that's okay. We know what we want this year.
So keep a close eye on PSXE as we'll be keeping a close eye on the Sony press conference during TGS 2009 in just a few weeks time. GamesCom was big, but perhaps this will be even bigger...

About a week or so ago I asked you info regarding my ps3 and it's being extremely noisy as of late. Well Now it only takes about 5 mins before it gets really hot and the fan kicks in overdrive. Is this normal or is this a sign of things to come for my system? What should I do? I can't live without that beast. Please help and thank you so much too.

The only reason I am aware of for your PS3 to alter the pattern of fan activation is if something is blocking the air flow either inside the unit or outside. As I think I said before, clear the vents on your PS3, and ensure that nothing is blocking either the inlet or exhaust vents. Both are just as important.
My 60GB unit's fan comes on pretty regularly, these old 60GB units are shedding anything up to 350-380 watts of energy through their cooling system, so they will be fairly warm. I liken my 60GB system to a space heater.
I use a vacuum cleaner on mine to ensure the vents are as clear as possible. I make sure the unit is OFF before I clean it. When using my PS3 I make sure that the area around it is clear so that the PS3 has breathing room. My unit stands vertically, although I don't think that there is really any advantage to this.
In terms of what is going on inside your PS3. Unless there has been a physical failure, or damage sustained by your unit, the only thing that can alter the airflow is if something starts to block the vents, or the fan picks up enough grime to slow down. When this happens, the grime on the blades reduce the efficiency of the fan and it pushes less air, so the unit is more likely to switch it to high speed operation to keep cool.
All I can advise is to keep your PS3 clean and free from dust. If your unit is overheating, then something inside has failed, and is not working right. If your unit does break, Sony will repair older systems for about $150. Not bad for a 3 year old piece of equipment that's two years out of warranty...
You might also talk to their customer service about cleaning procedures for the fan inside the PS3 to see if they have any advise.

Seriously, it's a Mech game. There's a trailer on the PSN (not sure if it's the US or UK store).
p.s. Why's my new avatar so small? The system allowed the Rock Band image and it was larger than 80x80, just like everyone else's. I feel short-changed. :( I never have that problem in real life. No, really.
p.p.s. I think I have it fixed.
