Uncharted 2 Golden, SCEA Reveals Special Cinema Events

Yes indeed, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves has officially gone gold, and SCEA and Sony Electronics have come together to give you a sneak peek before the upcoming masterpiece's October 13 launch date.

As revealed over at the PlayStation Blog, we're going to get four exclusive sneak peek events that will put Naughty Dog's awesome sequel on the big screen. These are gonna be fun: attendees will get to hang out with Naughty Dog team members during "a night of food, fun and multiplayer tournaments with the chance to win lots of cool prizes." This includes that bad-ass Fortune Hunter edition that won't be on sale on store shelves. Plus, you'll be able to sample the game on sweet high-def TVs and to further detail the festivities:

"Sony Electronics is working with major theaters across the country to create “digital destinations”, pairing 4K digital cinema technology with enhanced services and amenities, such as food, sporting events and music, to create an unprecented entertainment experience. UNCHARTED 2 will be one of the first pre-released games showcased at select sites."

These events will go down on the 5th and 6th of October at the locations listed below:

Chicago Area – Rosemont, IL, Muvico Theater

LA Area – Thousand Oaks, CA, Muvico Theater

Seattle Area – Bellevue, WA, Lincoln Square Theater

San Francisco – Landmark Embarcadero

So if you're in any one of the four preceding areas, feel free to drop on by and have yourself a blast. For the rest of you, keep an eye out for more ways to score that Fortune Hunter edition; you'll have to get somewhat lucky if you wish to add it to your collection.

Ha I'm two hours away from Seattle. Finally it pays off to be in the northwest. I'm gonna try to make it up there that day.

hmmmmmmm im starting to get worried, EB and game just switched their release date from october 15 to november 2009.
i sware to god if sony do their ushual BS and release this 1 month later here im going to loose my fooking mind and go awol on their a$$
this is really starting to get old.
if M$ can do a worldwide release with halo ODST and all their other games why not sony?
its official.
australia is the worst country to live in for video games.
its not enough we pay double the US.
its not enough we miss out on half the crap.
we have to wait weeks longer to?

Blame your government and all their regulations not Sony. Aussy is one of the most heavily regulated countries when it comes to games. Don't know why.

its got nothing to do with the gov.
its up to the publishers when they release their game in different areas.
just like the slim was released in europe and the US on the 27th? here we had to wait till the 3rd.
thats actually good, i cant remember the last time sony released a game here 6 days after the US, if uncharted 2 did that i would be happy.
but it wont its slated as TBC november 09
R&C is going to be out before this.

When will these ppl that think of these type of marketing events start to realize that they gotta hit the 2 major cities in Texas. Hell, Dallas is home of plenty of great developers.

Why not Indianapolis? Very clean and nice city with the Indianapolis Civic Theatre and it's one of the ten largest of 7,000 active community theatres in the country, along side that we have 3 I-MAX Theaters to choose from, one of which is the 6th largest in the world next to the worlds largest child museum, so its a good family environment and we host Gen-Con. But I only live 2 and a half hours from Chicago, so o well. I ll see if I can make it.
