European Gamers To Receive 16,000 MAG Beta Codes

We're still waiting to see about giving away MAG beta codes here in the US but in the meantime, you European gamers can take advantage of the SCEE giveaway.

SCEE will be handing out no less than 16,000 codes for the beta test of MAG and if you live in Europe or Australia, feel free to sign up; you only need to have a PSN account to qualify. They have already begun sending these out and they will continue to send them out on a weekly basis until the first of October. However, there's one interesting point that should be mentioned: the servers will only be open for 6 hours per day between Monday and Friday; 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. and 12:00 a.m. - 3:00 a.m. We're not sure why they're restricting the testing period for the beta but hey, at least we know the exact time of availability, right? As far as we know, this handout is entirely about first-come first-served, so sign up ASAP if you want a chance to test out one of the most anticipated and potentially revolutionary titles of the generation. We here in North America will continue to wait patiently...or perhaps not so patiently. Whatever, just gimme.

As I mentioned before, we'll try to have some MAG beta codes to give out, too. If we get a batch, we'll have to think of some nifty way to hand 'em out...hmm...

One of the developers on the beta forums said they're limiting the play time so they can get as many people as possible to play together.

Just signed up! U know limiting the time will actually make sense for MAG..Dunno if the older beta got 256 players together but this one surely will..

Btw does anybody know how long this beta will last??

I am a Qore subscriber(in the US) and just got me code last night. The starting date is the 17th, so I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also, as soon as I get home tonight, I will be getting into the U2AT beta/demo tonight!!!!

Hell why does the MAG beta and Uncharted beta have to be going on at the same time!

And why won't they let us download the thing earlier than the day it starts! I downloaded my MGO beta long before starting day which allowed me to jump right in when it started

This game is gonna be incredible. I love that Zipper/Sony are taking some chances with this game and pushing the envelope. From the way the game looks and the impression its left on people who have gotten a chance to preview the title in action, it seems like its going to take shooters to a whole new level.

I got the email stating the times we could play the beta and it thoroughly ticks me off. Sweet I payed over $20 to get another subscription to Qore for this and now because of the hours you can play it I am probably not going to be able to login a single day its available. MAG might have just lost my business. I was going to use this beta to decide if I was going to buy it or not, but since I can't even get on the servers to play it, that says no to me.

They will open the beta 24/7 when they roll out the Public Beta in November. I guess that would be your chance to play it in November providing that you have the patience to wait till november

You know I did sound pretty whiney when I wrote that but I had just found out that I had spent $20 something dollars to play the beta only to not get to play it because they want more people on at the same time. How would you feel if say you bought a game at the store and then had it stolen out of your car before you got home?

Your analogy should be... I bought a game at the store that came with a free ice cream, but the ice cream melted before I could get back to my car and eat it. You still have the game or rather the qore thing you purchased for $20

wow sony your on fire.
we have NEVER! got anything before the US.
but now this AND the uncharted 2 beta.
not bad, not bad at all i dident think it was possible.
may be sony are finally waking up and smelling the cheese, may be theve finally realized that the PS3 has been released out of the US.
may be there going to start treating us like penitential customers.......... nah wouldent hold my breath.
